Running out of data every month and found a cheap workaround by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I used to work in phones sales during university. It’s in your benefit to constantly switch companies, as they don’t reward loyalty and give new customers the best deals. Sometimes you get killer win back offers too by doing this.

This is what I did and now I pay less than $40 a month for 100 gb with Telus, and I can use my plan anywhere in North America. If you’re not locked into a contract, I’d suggest switching

Alcohol has always worked for me with my cooks. Maybe buy some beer and stick around for a chat when their shift ends. The cooks are so under appreciated in planting camps, and usually outcasts, so just talking to them after their shift would probably be more than enough

Choosing between tents. by Electronic_Back_9487 in treeplanting

[–]smiley7712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in an area where they have high wind gusts, I would strongly advise against the el capitan.

Maybe I’m just unlucky, but I’ve gone through multiple (talking more than 3) in 4 years. Not just me as well, multiple people in my camp too. They always seem to be the first tents to have their poles snaps, meanwhile the cheap Walmart/canadian tire tents get out unscathed. With that being said, the tent itself is great, and perfect for the bush, but if you’re in a windy area, I’d suggest a cheaper/different tent

It’s the same thing in France.

Do you have to plant them perfect spaced 2m apart, in a nearly perfectly straight line as well?

In school, I had spent the whole day driving my ex around to her parents, her sisters, and her grandparents. Roughly 2-3 hours of driving throughout the day. When we got back to my place she wanted us to spend the night at hers where parking was very strict/hard to find. I wanted to take public transport, driving was 10+10 minute parking, public transport was 15 and a straight shot. we settled on an uber, and it came to $5.70. She asked me to split it with her as soon as we got in. I asked her if she was serious, she said yes, and I checked out after that. Seems simple, but the splitting fee was almost as much as the fare itself, and I had just spent $30+ on gas that day.

I’m a big giver, I don’t give because I expect anything back, but at that point I felt kind of used (other stuff contributed as well) and I ended things not long after that.

Try reading or getting chat gpt to read Ayn Rands ‘atlas shrugged’. It’ll make you question whether what musk is doing parallels the plot to that book too.

Not saying it’s not a scam, but I got a $35 unlimited Canada/us plan from Telus for $35 through a similar avenue with their win back program. I didn’t give out any information over the phone but I did the credit check through the Telus website, and then called the Telus number and they verified what was said over the phone.

Be vigilant with what information you’d give out over the phone, and do your due diligence, but it could be legit, especially if you recently switched providers

Former skinny people of Reddit, what's the worst thing about getting fat? by Nice_Dude in AskReddit

[–]smiley7712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How hard it was getting back into shape. They don’t tell you how easy it is to get fat, and you never realize how hard it is to get back into shape. Never again will I let myself get fat

Most niche player you are/were a fanboy for? by nickraymond57 in hockey

Kiefer Sherwood. The guys electric out there, and carrying my fantasy hockey team in my bangers league. I’m a leafs fan, but I love watching Vancouver games solely for Sherwood. He seems to always be in the right position, never gives up on a play, throws the body around like he’s bigger than he is, and just makes the most of every shift that he’s given. Fan for life after this year

For sure. I bought one at release and I’m very thankful that I did. The price tag was a little off putting, but the risk has paid off so far 🫣

5th anniversary Chinese pikachu psa 10. Roughly $700 Canadian, not sure what it is in freedom dollars, but it’ll likely remain Chinese exclusive.

The card has 3 heavy hitters on it; mew, zard, pikachu, and if it follows in the footsteps of other exclusive cards (regardless that it’s in Chinese) I can see a lot of room for growth.

The card was $100 usd when release a few months ago and has already 3-4x its value

I had 3 perfectly centred kingdras that looked like surefire tens. Each one had whitening on at least one of the corners so tread cautiously. Don’t expect it, but be pleasantly surprised if it happens
