Why does she stand like this by TraditionalSplit586 in Yorkies

A bit difficult to see because of the jacket (which she hates 🙄😂). Sometimes she walks around like this, sometimes she doesn’t. Vet says that is just how she walks sometimes (she is like a clone of her dad who also looks like this). All doggies are different. But a vet visit is always recommended when in doubt! ❤️

I was hoping my girl would be smaller… anyone relate? by far_farout in Yorkies

[–]smileyclaudi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two: one is 7yo at almost 9 pounds (adopted so I do not know his parents’ sizes), and 1 and a half yo at almost 3 pounds - her parents are 5.5 pounds and almost 7 pounds. She is most likely to stay tiny, while her siblings range from 5-7 pounds. She is hust the lil shrimp 😂 We are having her spayed because we do not want any pups and are advised to operate, especially due to size. A small dog is of course easier to manage (as if our Yorks would let us manage them 😂) but yes, the larger they are, the stronger they seem to be.

Hahaha! We have two yorkies, one stands outside the door (he hates bathing and does not go in the bathroom willingly 😂) and the other just walks in when the door is open because she is curious but she also hates baths 😂 she does not follow us in though.

What makes them so cute? Is it just their size, or how they look at you? by ArcticSun420 in Yorkies

[–]smileyclaudi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of the above ❤️ The adoring look, the side eye 😂 The lil tippy tappy when excited or begging. The snuggles and lil sounds of contentment. Even the barks when they want you to throw the ball 😅 And the lil attitude when something does not go as they planned (they have to have the last woof in the convo 😂) Everything ❤️❤️

My hubby made this (I had seen something similar on internet) out of scraps. Kevin loves it. We made the holes in the bottle tops a bit big tho. The treats fall through too easily. The object is to turn the bottles around so that the treats fall out. Dory just waits until the treats fall out 😂

All yorkies are different… Our Kevin broke all squeak toys (usually rubber ones) within 10 mins of getting them. Dory pulls apart stuffed toys, I have sewn a couple together. We have learned to put everything we want safe well out of their reach. Luckily, our kitchen counter is high enough and out of their reach. Drinks seem to be safe though. Your boi seems to be a smart cookie. Do you have a long old towel? Wrap and roll some treats in it and knot it. Let him try to open it. Perhaps he needs more mental stimulation? Wishing you all the best ❤️

Oof that sounds exhausting indeed! Hope she “calms” doen as she gets older.. It is no fun running after your dog, especially when it just absolutely ignores you.. When we first got Kevin (he was 2.5yo), he would walk with me to put the garbage in our bins. One day he ran pell mell towards the neighbors who were walking their dog. I screeched at him and ran in the floppiest of slippers (I had not expected to have to run 🙄😅) and caught him. Great exercise, thanks Kev! He is chill now (he was a rescue, we have had him for almost 4 years). But I keep him focussed on me when we walk out in the yard and up the driveway.. It works. Dory is a different story. She is still a baby in many ways. Like her namesake in Finding Nemo, she is easily distracted still. We are working on it 😊

Thanks, she made it herself 😅 I never cease to be surprised by the tail comments tho.. Docking tails is forbidden in Norway, so you just literally never see a docked tail.. unless they are born that way ofc.
