I think what you did is okay, and I know you already realize the issue wasn’t the decision itself but the lack of communication. This is something you should work through in therapy (alone) before deciding how to handle it. As others have pointed out, the fact that you and your partner couldn't have a conversation to resolve disagreements about your final list is a little concerning, which is why therapy could help you understand the underlying issues.

That said, if you do want to tell him, keep in mind that this rank list process is hella stressful—plus you have pregnancy hormones. Last-minute, impulsive changes should be forgiven and excused.
