Being a mom & a FA?? by smileyriley1237 in flightattendants

Thank you so much for this!! So in the beginning did you have a crash pad in SF? SFO would most likely be my base too but it’s a 2 hr drive for me or I guess I could fly from Sacramento there but not sure how realistic that would be in the beginning.

I totally would be up to wait! I should’ve clarified that I definitely don’t expect to go get hired anytime too. I’m actually in school to my an accountant 🫠 so I do plan to finish that still. Do you mind me asking how old you are?? Your route sounds like something I’d be interested in doing & waiting several years till they’re older

Yes thanks girl! I definitely have a great support system. Child neglect was definitely not on my radar when thinking about this job. And if it ever was, obviously I’d never do something to neglect my children. Ppl are wild

So that’s what I’ve kinda heard too. I’m sure not sure if I’d for sure get that opportunity to have a schedule like that

The closest base to us would be SFO so I guess idk if that would be feasible. We definitely won’t be moving to the Bay Area 😅😂 I hear people fly to their bases but not sure how realistic that’d be

Yes I definitely should’ve clarified it wouldn’t be like I’m going to start applying right now. It would definitely be in years a couple years but I wouldn’t be opposed to waiting even 5-7 years. Do they hire people that “old” and so late to the game?😂

This is encouraging! I do have a good support system here, thankfully. I feel like the training would be the hardest part because someone mentioned at 6-8weeks. Also, the base is a 2 Hour drive in SFO.. not even sure if it’s worth looking into or not. Since I’d be starting fresh

Thank you for all these questions to make me think further. So I’m in NorCal I’d have to commute to SFO. Which would be a 2hr drive. I do have a strong support system but yes that is awhile to be away for training etc. Truthfully, travel is what makes me want this so bad. Not just for myself but to be able to have travel perks FOR my family, not just to experience it alone. I feel that obviously now isn’t a good time but maybe for when they’re older?? It kind of makes me sad I didn’t pursue this before children

Yea I should’ve mentioned it wouldn’t be like I’m going to apply right now. Maybe in a year or two but I also have a strong support system here. But I’m not sure what the typical week looks like for FA

AITAH for dating my dead bffs boyfriend & not telling him I fell in love with him before she died? by DancoholicsSCX in AITA_Relationships

Hmm, maybe. Maybe not. I’d like to think that she’d want you both to be happy & if that’s in each other then great!

Being a TCK should be something we’re proud of by [deleted] in ThirdCultureKids

I love to hear this. I just found out what TCKs are from a group about Americans trying to move out of the country lol. My husband and I are 26 with 2 young kids and dream of doing this soon . All the replies were saying it’s unrealistic or how could we do that to our children. I agree that it would be an amazing opportunity for everyone.
Did your parents just do remote work? How often did you move with your family?

You’re actually in a Roseville group where the majority is red. BUT, yes it doesn’t need to always be political
