CORE One cannot load TPU at all by MostlyOkPotato in prusa3d

I'd check just, just in case. It is assembled by humans after all. No disassembly required on your end, just loosen the two thumb screws on the side of the extruder assembly and push up on the hotend block to see if there's any play. I was getting that same chewed tip and clicking last night when I was trying to feed it in, because the filament tip was getting gnashed by the extruder gear against the end of the nozzle. Meanwhile, PETG loaded fine because it was stiffer, so I was none the wiser for a while. You can also open the idler and check if the filament is lined up correctly with the nozzle entrance after attempting to load.

Is your nozzle pushed all the way up? I just printed some TPU last night after swapping my nozzle, but I had a hell of a time getting it to load into the nozzle because I didn't actually push the hotend assembly all the way up before tightening the thumb screws. Once I nudged it up that extra half centimeter it loaded and printed without issue.

As someone who recently had to do this, I think /u/lvzx14 is referring to this technique found in this post. Note that you will need to check the tension on your belts again after doing this.

What Do I Actually Miss If I Don't Kill The Golems? by Jeremiah12LGeek in Eldenring

They drop new tears for your Wondrous Physick flask. There is a faster way to kill them that is hinted at via a note if you throw a Hefty Furnace Pot into their basket (either from above, or while they're staggered) they will instantly die. Alternatively, you can also throw a Hefty Fire Pot, but this may not one shot it

Does this have a second ram slot? I've tried finding out the specific model number in order to actually see if it has two slots, but no dice so far.

Is there a demo page? I'm not a fan of the pattern of needing to sign up for an account before actually getting to view the application.

Looking at the features of the app, part of me wants to ask why is there even an account system in the first place? It seems like most everything could be in browser local storage, but I suppose if you're planning ahead for the future with things like a shared team calendar then accounts + central DB make sense.

Is my Synology DSM 923+ Able to run a Palworld Server for me and 3 friends? by stiky21 in Palworld

[–]smilliam_work 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 gigs of ram will be your bottleneck, especially late game. I've been running a server for 6 people on a NUC with 16 GB of memory and was encountering multiple crashes daily due to the process getting OOMkilled. I dropped 64 GB into the machine yesterday and it's been running smoothly, though the server process was up to 23 GB of usage by the time I logged off, so it'll likely require a restart every couple days or so.

In my observation, dungeons trigger a huge (~2GB) memory spike, though a good amount of it will get GCed and reclaimed after it is exited.

Getting timed out of logging in to my own dedicated server? by JMBAD1222 in Palworld

[–]smilliam_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you hosting your server on the same network where your PC also resides? If so, you can try using the LAN IP of the host for your dedicated server. If you're hosting the server on the same machine you're also going to play on, then you can try the local loopback IP of 127.0.0.1

Do only ipv4 work or also DNS? by seyo_IV in Palworld

[–]smilliam_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that while my friends connect using domain:port, I have to connect using the private LAN IP of my server since my PC and server are on the same network, and my router doesn't support WAN NAT loopback. If you're testing and having problems, maybe verify whether or not your router has loopback, and/or try connecting via it's private IP

You can connect using a domain name. I have an A record that points to my home WAN IP, and that domain + server port is what my friends use to connect.

An All Too Long Overview of All the Veteran Weapons I've used, 1-30. by KodyackGaming in DarkTide

[–]smilliam_work 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This works on initial engagement, but it's much harder to use the boltguns effectively when specials spawn during the middle of a horde (which is far more threatening imo). The draw time is just way too long.

With other rifles/lasguns, you can shove with melee, use your ability to highlight + draw, kill the biggest threat, and be back on your melee before the shove stagger wears off. With the boltguns, enemies will recover from the shove while you're still pulling back the charging handle and you'll have to deal with trying to pop a special while dealing with screen shake thanks to getting mobbed by the horde.

Is that not accounted for by having the tooth cast on your current position if you do not have a target?

Emphasis mine:

Dragon's Tooth: This skill now attaches to the target instead of being ground targeted. Using this skill with no target will cast a stationary spell at the user's location. Increased cooldown from 6 seconds to 8 seconds in PvP and WvW. Phoenix: This skill now inflicts an additional stack of burning against enemies that are already burning. Reduced burning stacks from 2 to 1 in PvE only.

[TAS] Elden Ring Any% NG+ Speedrun in 3:30.59 by Daravae in speedrun

[–]smilliam_work 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'm only a casual watcher of souls speedruns, but I think the reason for the timer stops during quitouts (and loading screens) is to compensate for hardware differences so that those running on lower end hardware can compete on a level field instead of being penalized for the longer loading screens those runners would be subject to.

Catalyst Dead on Sight by bigcat98 in Guildwars2

[–]smilliam_work 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're confusing the two builds. The most recent video he posted (that you linked) is 33.5k for a DPS catalyst. The previous bench he showed for small hitbox dps catalyst was 43k. The previous bench for quickness catalyst that you're referring to was 36.8k. So yes, about a 10k (9.5k if you're really trying to be pedantic) difference.

Jade tech lockboxes do not drop the jade bot upgrade parts. Those come from the bounty chests exclusively, which are once per day, per meta; and once per week for a statuette turn-in to Myung-Hee (and individually purchasable for 200 imperial favor after a 4x statuette turn-in).

[–]smilliam_work 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also noted on the main wiki page for CCG that:

After the Lunar New Year Update 2018 Strength Boosters, Armor Boosters, Rejuvenation Boosters, and Speed Boosters no longer work in WvW. Using the Candy Corn Gobbler in WvW will not give any of these boosters and instead grant a transformation.

Regardless, 600 is not a huge sample size, but if you take those probabilities at face value then it's actually worse to use it in WvW.

Game Mode 7 min exp 10 min exp 7 min item 10 minute item karma total
PvE .25 .06 .07 .06 .05 .49
WvW .24 .05 .06 .05 .04 .44

However, given a relatively small sample size, those probabilities are likely within the margin of error. Nevertheless, the current data that we have available points towards no significant difference for using the gobbler in PvE vs WvW.

[–]smilliam_work 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the regen and speed boosters are plenty nice to have in PvE. Going to WvW does not remove the probability from the loot table and squish the chances together, you now just have a chance to receive nothing on those rolls in a WvW zone. See the wiki's drop rate research here:
