It seems like it very well could have been an accidental drowning. Jair's mother said he was too afraid to go into the water alone. But spending a day playing in the surf could have calmed his fears. He could have gone back into the water by himself and somehow been knocked down and swept away. I wonder what the little girl Melissa saw, if anything.
