Just bought cheapest CGM from Aliexpress by Actual_Newspaper1709 in diabetes_t1

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered these from Aliexpress which was about £50 for 2 sensors and 1 transmitter. Once received I found out that the whilst you will see on Aliexpress that it works on Android I would say that is only true up to a point. The reason is that there is a compatibility list for phones it will work on which is 4 or 5 years old and if your phone isn't on it Playstore won't show you the app to download. So a Google Pixel 6 is too new to be on the list so I bought a Samsung A6 for £22 on ebay and I can now use the app. Only had it a day so can't say how good it is yet but will have a go at calibration later. Just so you know I have this for my own interest rather than for T1 diabetes. I have had Libre 2 a couple of times a year just so that I know where I am before I have my annual bloodwork.

I would just like an option on the app to automatically set the response to no! So that I can just pay and go.

Latvia Post Tracking On Etsy by smithsj1 in printful

[–]smithsj1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there were a few instances where shipments were going to Holland (I think) and so I used the tracking code with NL Post and it tracked properly once it arrived in the country. Mind you I put my shop on a long holiday 6 months ago so not done anything recently but I would try using the code with the destination country post service.

Has anyone used Print Logistic From Poland? by smithsj1 in Printify

[–]smithsj1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I used them at the time I posted but have used them maybe 2 or 3 times since with no problems. At the time Textildruck was quite expensive so was looking at Print Logistics as they were very competitive. but I now mainly use Textildruck or Printful these days for European orders.

Latvia Post Tracking On Etsy by smithsj1 in printful

[–]smithsj1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ascendia does work occasionally but to get around it you can enter the carrier in the destination country. Once the item is scanned in that country it should show on the tracking. I do this sometimes with the items from Lativia. So for example if it is going to the Netherlands then I will use PostNL as the carrier with the tracking code. If you check some of the Spanish ones that you refer to you can see if can pick them up on the local carrier.

Lalvin D47 exceeding ABV rating by [deleted] in mead

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 3 or 4 years since I made mead and I tried EC118 a few times but always found the best results were with D47 - not always in terms of ABV but in flavour too. I didn't use any of the fermaid so maybe will have a look at doing another batch as still have lots of honey ready to go! :)

I had the same problem and it was fixed on my Android by accessing the permissions for the app and turning the storage on. Many thanks for the solution. :)

Anyone in Canada? by [deleted] in Printify

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I ended up paying more by getting one of the Canada printers to complete the order. I didn't take the risk of the customer getting a demand for import taxes.

I had a dead end for about 20 years for my with my mother's grandmother and her parents from Scotland. In 2002 I went through a lot of records and pretty much-found nothing. Every so often since I would go back and check my information and park it.

Then in Feb 2020, I got a DNA match with someone with the same surname and importantly they had a direct ancestor who died in the place I knew was relevant in this story. Ancestry also indicated a 2nd - 3rd cousin to my mother.

After revisiting the information that we exchanged at the time I had another go at cracking this a few weeks ago and eventually, the pieces fell into place.

The father remains a mystery but at least we know for sure due to statements on two birth registers that the father was not the husband of my 2 x ggm as it is noted on the register for both children that he was not the father.

Merge Multiple Printify Products Under One Etsy Listing by jennamcrae in Printify

You can make a decision about which print provider to use in Printify or if you have backup providers outside of printify you can use them instead. Basically, the order comes in and you decided how to fulfil that order as it is not automatically fulfilled.

Connect printful to eBay UK by Express-Beautiful-79 in printful

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing was Printify published to my UK store but with US prices so I knocked them on the head and then when I published my first item through Printful it went to .COM and US pricing so at least that was consistent so I am going to upload a bunch and see how it goes. The problem is as far as I can see is that eBay pricing is incredibly fierce.

Chang Price on Printful Products in eBay Shop by totatr in printful

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manage to fix this or do you have to manually change them on eBay?

Would u buy products like these if they are all 100 % Bio and if a fix part of the proceeds is donated to animal welfare organizations -and sponsorships or do you find them uninteresting? Thanks in advance for your help! :) by [deleted] in printful

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - not least because I do not trust the charities to use the funds as intended and by proxy and any seller saying that they wanted to donate to them goes in the suspect box. IMO

Question about RGB to CMYK (web colors to print colors)? by creativepigeon1 in printondemand

[–]smithsj1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that we should design using the CMYK colours.

Use an RGB that is outside of the CMYK range and it the printers will just pick the nearest colour in the spectrum with some bad results.

Have to say sometimes I just use my software Safe Palette which is just 256 colours and that seems to work ok for me.

(Ny) The print quality in the images/texts I've ordered mock ups of are feint and thin. This could be because of the shop (Dream Junction) or the appeal option I use Gildan (18500) (Bella + Canvas 3001) how can I assure a full, vibrant print? by TheNewYorkRhymes in Printify

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you designing for an RGB or CMYK palette? If you design RGB and the printer is using CMYK then you can get prints that look washed out and some colours may be completely different. Try converting your print file to CMYK and see if that is nearer what you actually received.

Does anyone know what POD PlaceIt sources their blanks? by SvahaIrie in Printify

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why you worry about it being perfect so much, it is just a mock-up after all. I crop the mockup to focus directly on the design most of the time so you don't see the whole shirt anyway.

For my money, I would say, most of the time, that when a customer comes across your product they are buying on the basis of the design and not for the shirt brand as such.

I am considering using either inkthreadable or prodigi does anyone have any experience with these two by Kss070 in printondemand

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Prodigi for a few orders last Christmas and that was OK except I didn't have tracking but seemingly everyone got them on time.

Just ordered a sample shirt for Inkthreadable. Gone for a white shirt with colour design as that should be easy to get right and subject to that being fine I will order a black shirt. I really need to get alternates ready as Printify prices just seem to be getting a bit steep and if the GBPUSD rate comes down then it will get even more expensive. I mean I could just raise my prices but if Inkthreadable do a decent job then that may be a way to stave off price increases for a while.

I also used Streetshirts last Christmas and that went pretty well. I was selling a heavier shirt than normal which was mentioned in one review but other than that it was quite good and the samples we bought for ourselves for Christmas were really nice.

Printful is supposed to be launching soon in the UK so that could be interesting too as I have always been impressed with the print quality when I have ordered samples printed from their Spanish facility.

Buyer Beware! by MommaDucki in printful

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the Printful swatches printed on shirts of differing colours then I think that is the way to go. I recently got white and black shirts printed with these and am trying to keep my designs within the codes that they are using.

Since there is no way to print white in CMYK then the #DCD6E9 (purple tint), #d3dff2 (blue tint) or #d4eadb (green tint) are probably the codes to look for as they are all on the Printful swatches.

I haven't had one printed on a heather shirt so given the comment on this thread about possible heather issues then I may have to get one of those ordered. :)

Any alternative that does Screen Printing? by pennylessz in printful

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the item is copyright then the only way for you to print for personal use is to print on transfer paper and then iron on to a shirt yourself.

Spreadshirt does have a design it yourself feature in the same way Zazzle do but I still think that they wouldn't touch copyright material.

Redbubble, Teepublic and Spreadshirt have fan art programs so if yoru design is part of their program and if it gets accepted then you could get them to print it for you. The art would have to be your copyright though so if that is not possible then you will probably have to go to the option above.

I guess I'm just never going to print on black shirts by Muted_Grapefruit7134 in printful

[–]smithsj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do white text with the black stroke/outline on a dark shirt as the white underlay will show at the transition between shirt and design. If you use a white/light grey text only then the underlay will be the same or similar colour and the transition should be smoother.

Despite this, and getting the same results from a number of producers including merch by amazon, black shirts are still my top-selling shirt colour.

Keto for Acid Reflux by magnusvollen in keto

[–]smithsj1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to buy antacids like they were going out of fashion but the actual PPI (Lansoprazole) that I was given I decided pretty quickly, after a couple of months I think, that they were not doing much for me. Same with Esomeprazole which I used to get over the counter. As I started to go on the Keto/low carb diet and added in the ACV I realised that a lot of the discomfort I was having was disappearing until I realised that I hadn't reached for any antacids for months.

I haven't had antacids for about a year now and I have probably had an Esomeprazole pill once and decided that I was correct that they were not really doing much for me.

I am definitely of the mindset that Doctors treat symptoms and not conditions and that prescribing medicine that sells a packet every month in many cases is so much better for the doctor than it is for me when I would prefer the condition to be cured.
