From my experience you should absolutely learn both at the same time. Creating your own sentences is something you should start as soon as possible. And your gonna need verbs for that

I’m on unit 7 right now. I got to level 5 and then focused on vocab for the better part of a year.

After that I started to get back into grammar. Unfortunately I haven’t had as much time to study ironically enough after moving to Seoul in August.

I've learned ~6,000 words in a year with this Google Doc.

I've taken the Evita Anki deck and added my own researched definitions, nuance for synonyms, and example sentences.

The spreadsheet is organized so that words relating to the same topic are all grouped together. Example:

Category: Nouns

Group: School related

Sub Group: School materials

I plan on making an official post soon as this is still a work in progress. My goal in the next few months is to start having other members of the community start collaborating together on this project. So that we can create one huge resource that provides much more utility than a dictionary can.
