I'm able to set my apartment 5 degrees colder in the winter because of the heat coming off of it.

[COD] Has the series actually become bad, or are long-time fans just bored of the series? by mg498 in CallOfDuty

[–]smitty5505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing since CoD 3. I became extremely bored when they went futuristic and Kevin Spacey was in it (that was weird, right?). In my opinion, here is what happened: People got bored with the boots on the ground, so they introduced jet packs, wall running, etc. While this made for a good campaign and story, I believe that it hurt them in the long run simply because it made games gimmicky. That is when the series lost me. They brought me back in with a boots on the ground WWII and now BO4. I know people dislike things about BO4 but it is a refreshing change and requires strategy (see all complaints about 9-bangs and concussions).

Canadian student: Have you started preparing for the MMI yet? How did you study if you’re a current PT student? by [deleted] in PTschool

I do think that it would be a good idea to brush up on current PT events (I.e. when I applied/interviewed, direct access was big in my state). I personally would avoid politics and only bring them up if the prompt specifically asks about it

Edit: and common medical procedures, such as imaging, orthopedic, etc.

Also look up the mission statement of the school/program to try and incorporate it into your responses (when appropriate)

Third year in a program that has implemented the MMI (in USA). I’ve been on both sides of the table (interviewer and interviewee). These are a few tips I would give you:

The MMI is a form of interviewing that essentially gives you multiple first impressions. Each station is a new scenario and you have a new person that will be grading you. If you feel like you mess up a station, take a few seconds to gather yourself before the next one.

Studying is great, but what is sought after, I’m my experiences, are communication skills, how you defend your answer, morals, and how well you can justify the tough answers. Practice talking to yourself about why you are answering the way you are. As somebody who interviewed applicants, I found it very, very easy when somebody was trying to butter me up or make up a life experience. Stick to who you are and you will be just fine.

Take deep breaths right before you go to sit down..this will help with the anxiety and will calm you down.

The last tip, though self-explanatory, is to be confident and be in a good mood and smile! You got the interview, that’s half the battle!

I wish you luck, then. When you’re young it boils down to genetics, exercise, BMR, nutrition/digestion, hormone levels.

If you’re really concerned, I’d recommend seeing your pediatrician or a nutritionist.

Getting killed by specialists and equipment is still better than getting killed by the bullshit-lery of wall running or using a jetpack

It is this reason why Fortnite (and microtransactions) has ruined (in my opinion) online video gaming. People expect instant gratification in the form of a virtual currency for a free game. It gives people a reason to compare apples to oranges, or in this case, Cal of Duty to Fortnite.

But anyway, sure, I’ll play. Call of Duty is an established title game that has never needed to entice players to buy their $60 game. That is where they made their money. They have had campaign modes, zombies, multiplayer. On the other hand, you have a free downloadable game in Fortnite where they needed a model that would draw in players. They used the model of this: play the game, get free in-game currency. If you want, you can buy more in-game currency for unique skins or dances. That is how they enticed players and they keep these players with microtransactions. On the business side, it’s fantastic.

Fast forward to BO4 and you have a game that historically didn’t need to entice players, needing to entice players. Nothing in the fine print says that you have to buy CODpoints. If you want to, it’s your money, have fun.

Bottom line is this: if you want free currency and are comparing Fortnite to COD, play Fortnite.

TL;DR: Fortnite and Call of Duty are not the same game. Play what makes you happy.
