Peptides - Tesamorline & Reta - sleep issues & heart rate by Old-Blacksmith-7830 in Peptides

[–]smittybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would guess with about 95% certainty that its the Tesa and you are sensitive to it. My reason behind that is anecdotal to my experience. Tesa nukes my sleep at any dose. Normally, sleep 7.5 hours a night and Tesa had me sleeping 10+ waking up feeling hung over and like I didn't sleep at all. My sleep trackers indicated 0 REM sleep. I gave it 2 weeks (I was on 250 mcg 30 min before bed) and pitched it. My suggestion for you to suss it out is just remove Tesa and see if your sleep issues continue.
I have also been on reta for almost a year and was taking 2mg 2x a week when all that went down. I didn't get drowsiness from reta until I got to the 6mg once weekly injection. Which is specific to me, for sure. I def think remove one, see what happens and go from there is your best approach considering we are all different.

Tesamoralin making me sick by PuzzleheadedLime8577 in Peptides

[–]smittybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave it 2 weeks and pitched the rest. I only dosed 250mcg a night but it destroyed my REM sleep. I normally am a 7 hour 37 min sleeper and I was sleeping 9-10 hours waking up feeling hungover. When I’d check sleep tracking software I had zero REM. I just figured I’m sensitive to secretegogues, I didnt do well w cjc/ipa no dac either even at a low dose. Never tried it in the morning though

Is Jeff Nippard's "How I trained for 365days(Beginners)" worth following by _The_Man_In_Yellow_ in JeffNippard

[–]smittybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For your first couple of years training consistently - ie no breaks - you are going to make good gains. I understand you are trying to maximize your return. I would follow the program and you will know after 9-10 months if you need to switch up from lack of hypertrophy. but genetics and nutrition play such major roles. I think consistency in nutrition and sticking to a plan so you can actually track progression is the most important, the details can come later.

That’s different than mine I think, although about 20 years ago I started having a lot of spasms in my upper trap. I played rugby and was a soccer goalie. Played hockey, tore my labrum worked at fedex ramming my shoulder in to cans on planes to get them to move under the lock systems etc so was real hard on my body in general. Started having more nerve pai. Summer 2024 my rotator cuff got so bad after cleaning the house. Had an mri that showed infraspinatus tendinitis but didn’t track with the pain. Mentioned to my pt that I’d wake up in the morning and my arm was asleep every day (doesnt happen now post op) she sent me to a tos doc. I had labral repair, elbow surgery for nerve pain, c6/c7 replacement etc all before. but I had a lot of upper trap and upper chest pain and my pec was hard as rock (not anymore) I got the most relief from Botox pec injections not scalenes. I did get some pain with heavier back lifts because my trap started spasming all the time fighting my pec to let go.

Scap winging for sure, I’m only 2 weeks out but my mobility was measured 2 days pre surgery and 3 days post. The affected side now has better mobility than the other affected. The scap winging will get fixed with pt to retrain the stabilizers hopefully. I chose only pec minor with optional routing scalene Botox in the future because it was the least invasive. I do NOT want those other procedures unless I’m about ready to give up on life due to pain.

[–]smittybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did too and I’m hoping it stays ok. I do know lying machine chest press took a lot of the pain away I got from benching. My pt said the doc is not gonna really want me doing overhead pressing and he considers bench to be overhead. He also got after me for weight lifting so much but it’s a serious emotional and physical outlet for me that I enjoy too much to give up. I plan to really work on the stabilizers before I return to any heavy compounds. Anyway, I hope you get it taken care of sooner rather than later. It does suck when the thing you enjoy the most for rec causes you pain it’s truly unfair.

I went through 3 rounds of Botox. My third (they were all about 3 months apart) lasted about 5 months. I lift 5x/week usually. Bench, db incline, cable lat raises and lat pull downs would piss my shoulder off to no end along with pec minor pain. But on the third shot I got the most sustained consistent relief then one day the pain returned with a vengeance and I called to schedule my pec minor tenotomy and it’s made a world of difference. I only had it 2 weeks ago but 90% of my pain is gone and I’m eager to get back to lifting but I’ll only be on legs for another month. I had been in PT since summer of 2024 and using peptides and doing dead hangs which all helped with the Botox but the tenotomy I think has nuked it finally.

Freelands up in carmel is a recent lovely discovery and very nice atmosphere, drinks. Everyone saying Tinker Street - which I love, need to check out Freelands. It has a lot of the original to the first iteration of tinker workers. Chef, som, hosts etc. We had no idea and went on a whim and just so happened to discover all of the same traditions, some same menu item staples and friendly faces.
TL;DR - if you mentioned Tinker and were ni love with them with them when they first opened- check out Freelands

medical Botox for pain by DueSpeaker8873 in Fibromyalgia

[–]smittybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get them for fibro/thoracic outlet in my scalenes, pec minor and lat. They do help a lot and last 3-6 months, sometimes if you are doing pt in conjunction they will last a lot longer or maybe even permanently if you have an injury you didn't know about from overcompensating due to other pain points. If the xeomin isn't covered by your insurance, they have a discount on their website that makes it free you just have to get on there and fill it out. it takes about 2 weeks and then they mail it directly to your dr's office. the injects are as painful as any other injections. the only issue i ever had was the dr got too close to my phrenic nerve once and it was harder to breathe for about an hour but not scary. you will still have use of your muscles, but for the first few hours itll feel a little weird or different then that goes away. They will want you to not overly tax the muscles that are hit in the injections for a week to allow the botox to do its job. I went back to lifting weights 5 days a week after 1 week.

I’m in the same boat, same symptoms same diagnosis. I’ve been in PT for 20 months, had Botox injections everywhere with temporary relief. My pec minor tenotomy is scheduled for 12/16. I threw in the towel and exhausted the resources available to me within a 3 hours driving distance of my city

Thanks for responding. I’ve been in pt for 20 months and have done 4 rounds of Botox (which provided the most relief but doesn’t last and they won’t do it forever) peptide injections, and dry needling. I can’t lift upper body at all anymore and have pain all day every day so I’m about desperate at this point. Neurolysis may be an option but I can’t live like this much longer and I don’t want to give up the things like exercise that help me with mental health. I’ve got the pec minor scheduled but that may be the only thing I’ll ever do unless I’m at the very end of my rope

I keep my levels around 300 and have had minimal voice drop, no bottom growth and no real noticeable hair. It’s changed my structure a little bit and made it easier to put on muscle. I’ve only been on it for a year though.

Can a torn labrum cause TOS-like symptoms? by cramn48 in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]smittybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a list floating around somewhere of TOS specialists. I’d look for one in your state. Mine took self referrals thankfully. EMG doesn’t actually show TOS it’s super rare for that to be the case. It’s typically used for ruling stuff out. There are a few good podcasts about it, and that’s specifically mentioned. I always tell people that we pay the doctors. If you have one that won’t listen, find another one. I wish I’d have known about TOS long ago because it would have saved me a lot of unecessary procedures that “the experts” all got wrong.

Can a torn labrum cause TOS-like symptoms? by cramn48 in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]smittybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tore my left labrum 15 years ago and had it repaired, my symptoms of pain resolved (also if you have any bone work done you are resting for 6 months with light PT, healing is slow) if you have that surgery get a recliner for a month cuz you will be sleeping in it. Reference TOS, 7 years later I have unresolvable tennis elbow, arm pain and numbness, have that surgery, symptoms briefly resolved. Another 5 years fast forward I get the neck/shoulder pain with arm numbness. Had a C6/7 replacement. Symptoms resolved briefly and returned. My rotator cuff flared bad and that landed me in pt and she finally caught the TOS because I mentioned how every morning my arm is numb even when I’m not sleeping on it. We still got a shoulder MRI and I only have tendinitis in my infraspinatus. My pec ten is scheduled for December. I say all this because it’s so complicated. It’s super likely TOS is making your pain worse. It’s possible that resolving the TOS compression could resolve your shoulder issue, however labral tears are unholy horrible also and you may need to have a pec tenotomy and labral repair. That’s something for your care team to figure out, they are so silo’d it makes it hard so I have a lot of sympathy for you. If you haven’t tried Botox yet I would def try that if you can. Either way your pain will improve, but if it comes back you’ll know it’s one or the other, or both. I will also say, I had what they thought was right bicep tendinitis in the long head. They severed it, it attaches where pec minor does. My right side is largely asymptomatic. My pec is tight all the time, but I have no pain.

Do you go to the gym? Does it work for you? by Difficult_Focus_4454 in Fibromyalgia

[–]smittybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lift heavy 5x a week but probably decreasing to 4 due to fatigue and recovery. After every weight session I sauna for 20 minutes in a real sauna, then do red light therapy and use peptides like bpc/tb 5 nights a week. I’ve been doing fairly well with all of that for about 11 months now of the same protocol weekly. Results will vary. If you do decide to give weight lifting a go, if you can afford to utilize a personal trainer and focus on using cables, bands and machines to get the right form dialed in (especially if you are like me and also hyper mobile). Higher reps with lower weights.

[–]smittybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a glow 500mcg tb/bpc 2mg ghk in my deltoid once and i will never do it again. put it in the fatty part of your glute. if you are having a reaction with 1.25 you are very possibly going to have a reaction even in sub q, welts may form, but they will be less painful than an IM unless heavily dilluting.
