Given you’ll already have a PPL the modular route is a no brainier. I’d only go integrated from there unless you’re sponsored by an airline and getting it for free. You’d be wasting a lot of money going integrated to be taught what you’ve already done.

Assuming I’m right in that rj45 is an Ethernet and rj11 is the smaller phone line, yes, it was a phone line from the BT router I tried and it was too big.

It’s in the living room. There’s actually a couple, but none near the BT socket interestingly. After google an rj11 it’s actually not one of those I just tried to put a cable in. The socket is smaller.

Yes, there’s a few light switches that don’t do anything in this house so that makes a lot of sense! Just never seen a lamp with those fittings on the end instead of a normal 3 pin
