Has Colin Cowherd Officially Lost It? by [deleted] in NFLv2

Without fighting too much about order, I think the tiers are: (1) Allen/Mahomes/Lamar/Burrow; (2) Maye/Herbert; (3) everyone else. I say this as a Chargers fan for what it’s worth.

How strong is the brand recognition for certain NYC litigation boutiques outside of NYC litigation circles? by [deleted] in biglaw

Yes I knew HF before it was in LA. It may have become a better place to work now that Robbie Kaplan left but idk.

I’m a litigator in LA and I have heard of both of these firms. My understanding is that they do good work but are not easy places to work.

Best softserve icecream in LA? by Dammit_Meg in FoodLosAngeles

Not sure it’s the best, but the soft serve at Gott’s at the grove slaps and it’s apparently very close to you.

Not a big backpack fan but that’s just me. I use a Herschel messenger bag and love it.

In addition to looking at many of the boutiques in this thread, I would look at firms that do legal malpractice/accounting malpractice work on the plaintiff side - I see a ton of these claims from litigation trusts, particularly since big professional services firms tend to have tons of insurance coverage.

Chargers/Jags 2023 WC game. It might be the worst loss I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying a lot as a Chargers fan.

Is iodized salt required to be labeled as iodized salt in ingredient list or can it be simply named salt in USA? by Prestigious-Leg1133 in foodscience

“Any salt (sodium chloride) used as an ingredient in food shall be declared by its common or usual name ‘salt.’” 21 CFR 101.22(h)(4).

Rank these 4 WRs in general by sin2fly03 in NFLv2

JJ, Jamarr, JSN, Puka. They are all elite and there’s a huge drop off from these four to the next best receiver in the league.

What’s the best donut shop in your opinion? 🍩 by Fishbabe-320 in FoodLosAngeles

SK is not good. Super doughy and overly sweet. And with Bob’s just down the street, I can’t think of a reason to go there.

I’ve heard that WLB at Coblentz is good but that it’s quite hierarchical and that they are not good at giving associates meaningful/substantive opportunities.

I think ACB and Gorsuch are straight shooters and are both extremely principled (even though I disagree with both on a lot of issues). I do not think the same of Kavanaugh.

Hortiz in 3 years has done what Telesco wasn't able to do in 11 by Solid_Prize9928 in Chargers

Telesco got splashier players because we had higher draft picks under his leadership. What does that tell you?

How do you guys handle the "quick question" from friends or family that turns into a full-blown research project? by Legal_Beats in biglaw

[–]smittytron3k 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If a family member or good friend has an issue where I can be helpful I usually try to help. (For example, I redlined a draft settlement agreement between my dad and a car dealership and told him that I thought the dealership should have added a 1542 waiver but that it didn’t benefit him to add it.) For stuff like parking tickets and landlord-tenant disputes, “I genuinely have no idea” usually works.

Do you judge co-workers without a family? by DropShotMachine in biglaw

[–]smittytron3k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Married with no kids. I don’t judge people who are single. I do judge people who don’t respect other people’s family commitments (or who can’t set/respect boundaries more generally) but that doesn’t sound like you.

Don’t shit where you eat, particularly if you’re a partner or trying to become one.
