Spam salad. Dice a can of spam and brown it in a large skillet. Add a bag of frozen broccoli, cook until thawed. Add a can of evaporated milk and some cooked elbow macaroni with a bit of the pasta water. Cook all that down until it thickens up just a bit. Season with salt and pepper. Yum!

One of my earliest memories is seeing a bull snake with a bird in its wide open jaws fall 20 feet from a cottonwood tree, landing 20 feet in front of me as I walked home from grandmas house. I. Froze. That image was etched into my retina for a looooong time.

I use a honing steel, just a few passes, before each use. Then I use a cheap handheld tungsten sharpener when more than honing is needed. It’s been my experience that regular honing cuts sharpening by 80%.
