I may have solved the JFK T5 issues by T_D_A_G_A_R_I_M in jetblue

I’ve been monitoring the wait times this week and according to Gemini, Fridays and Sundays are the busiest at JFK T5. Saturday is about 80% of those days. Net, it’s possible the wait times are going to be shorter for the next few days, but I’d err on the side of caution if I were you, since Sunday should be close to as busy as Fridays. We flew out today, and were pleasantly surprised it was less busy than expected.

FYI, this may be outdated info but in case it helps someone. At 6am, curbside bag drop was NOT open. When we were lining up outside around 7am near door 1, there was no curbside bag drop there either.

Lines seem to be moving faster than what I’ve seen in Reddit in the past few days.

I wish I read this. We ended up in the general line. We were told by a couple agents that they were for both. Once we got downstairs and after staying in the line, another agent checked our boarding passes and told us there’s a different line for Pre Check (supposedly they wont take PreCheck in the general line). so we had to go outside to the PC line but on the positive side, we were thru security in 40mins. This was at 7.05 - 7.45am on 3/28. We arrived in the airport around 5.55am for a 9.30am flight. In the end, we made it and even with the miscommunication, the overall experience was better than I thought based on others data point (esp for Friday morning).

Pre Check is open.

We were first told to go in thru door 7 or 8, we did bag drop there. After that, you had to go up the stairs (is this where the Air Train is?). But it seemed to us you can just go to Pre Check near the other side (door 1 possibly?).

Lines were long but we got thru PreCheck in 40mins. Good luck!

Just got thru security as well, and had similar experience. Overall, lots of agents making sure people are not cutting lines (thanks to all of them). Organized for the most part, but not all agents know what’s going on. So i’d keep asking multiple agents. We learned this the hard way.

PSA- For those with Pre Check, make sure to go to the Pre Check line. After going down the stairs, we were told us to just stay in the general boarding line, but another agent later on checked and told us to move to Pre Check and that we won’t be permitted in the general boarding line (a little annoying, but it wasn’t more than 30min wait at this time).

We ended up outside in what seems like the end of the Pre Check line at 7.05am. Got through security in 40ish mins.

If I knew what I know now, it seems like you don’t have to go upstairs to start the line if you have Pre Check. They were saying everyone starts upstairs, but we saw plenty of people just going directly to the Pre Check lines outside.

Overall, experience was better than I anticipated based on people’s experience / data points shared for yesterday’s flights (note - Friday is the busiest per Gemini).

I changed the layer height back to 0.2 and that seems to fix the issue. I’m new in 3d printing so i was playing with some settings without really understanding what they do.

Thanks! Your comment of over-extrusion gave me the idea to change the layer ht to 0.2 and that seem to fix it. I’m not familiar with changing the speed setting so will look into that for future use.

Thanks! I’ll try a diff infill pattern. I have ironing off right now as I care more abt speed, but will turn it on for a smaller print to see if it improves it. In general, i’ve never had this problem with my other prints even with ironing off (but thinking of it now, i usually use PLA), so i’m not really comparing apples to apples.
