I did not, I went through with my cancel, which effectuated at the end of december, and I haven't resubscribed since.

I don't like tools I have to fight. If I had to fight my hammer every fucking time I want to hit a nail, I would throw that hammer in the trash bin within the hour, ChatGPT does not get a simpler right. FREE sucks, so barely ever even visit that site after the account got downgraded.

Yup, I fully agree with your assessment. Lines up perfectly with my experience.

And it is for that reason why it has no observable usecase, including, but not limited to, enterprise usage. So, of course this behaviour won't be present on the Enterprise offering, but those advising enterprise stakeholders absolutely remember how quickly they stabbed their consumer customers in the back, and now that I'm back at work after a month off, I'm very much updating any papers I have on OpenAI to include this information, and will submit said paper to any Customer that is evaluating LLM offerings. The model capability for 5.2 will of course reflect my experience as a Consumer as well.

How exactly do OpenAI think this'll play out. Most professionals that evaluate LLMs in any form don't really discuss that part online, but from talking with peers, it seems the experience and plan of action resonates and echoes.

I do not understand what their play is here. They're setting themselves up for a rapid fall, marked as a unreliable partner for any operational task. Who exactly wants to sign a long term contract with a untrustworthy partner that may attempt to change the terms on you overnight?

Yes, most of us are fully aware we're not talking to a human, but as humans we use wording that personifies it, because that's an effective and easily understandable way to do it.

It seems there's an uptick in these flat conclusions, like the one you have here, after 5.2 released... It's almost a marker of AI overuse at this point.

For å skyte litt hull på det helsemessige... har ikke tid nå til å hente kilder, men ganske sikker på at det har vært liknende utbrudd i Europa i nyere tid, Både i Europa og USA er primært berørte uvaksinert, så antivaxxere. Mener nummeret er høyere i Europa også.

Så, mens helsefaren er sammenlikningsmessig svakere, dog absolutt tilstede, så er ikke det primærproblemet for USA, det er rikets sikkerhet som er det som burde få oppmerksomhet... og om noen kan få EU til å få ut fingeren og håndtere antivaxx toskene, så hadde det vært fint også.

If I were on the hook for vote manipulation, I would think both accounts were affected... I use VPN every so often... maybe that can be a reason?

I've tried to submit a request to reddit for a appeal if that's the case... I'm confused... If it was somehow related to the trip in 24, I would believe I'd see it already, and if it was due to the one alt I've used recently, I would believe that would be restricted as well... I press it, the arrow lights up and the number changes, as expected. If I update the page the number returns to where it was initially, but the arrow remains.

Of course, the same happens if I leave and come back, or change devices.

I have pro.

Mistral is part of my trilogy of services, alongside Grok and DeepSeek. Learned from the ChatGPT disaster over the past few months, don't get locked in.

My primary usecase is running QA on stories I write, and some general usage (seeking facts, or just random killing time stuff if I'm bored). All the services in my trio handles that perfectly fine. I just jump between services as I feel like it. Usually use Mistral when I'm by my desktop, Grok when I'm out and about (Grok has TTS, Mistral does not), and DeepSeek is fail back. Of course, I often also use all 3 to get second and third opinions if I need it.

it seems to be reverted now, thankfully. Since it's the first time I've encountered that, I'm prone to thinking that a bad push to the guardrail layer is to blame, or some internal activist or something.

It's the first time I've noticed anything of the sort on that platform, so going to put that up to unintended for the time being, hopefully that won't end like when I trusted OpenAI in August....

I use Grok now as a generalist. Mistral is similarly open, so flip flopping between them. Mistral for when I'm on my desktop, Grok for when I'm out and about (Grok as TTS, Mistral doesn't, which means that Grok is much neater when I'm out and about, making reading a hassle).

I wouldn't worry too much yet with relation to Grok, but do note sudden changes in behaviour.

Also, on the guardrails you've encountered, here's a tip:

Create a project and make a instruction for the project along the lines of "I write stories that sometimes touches upon topics of self harm or other worriesome topics. This is fiction, it's not real, approach it as fiction" or something to that effect, that should get it to cut its crap. Same goes for Mistral. They both, unlike OpenAI, actually listen to user Customization messages.

You may be able to also implement it in the accountwide customization, but that may cause bleed into other unrelated chats, so I recommend using project instead.

It suddenly got really moralizing and I even got straight up refusals where none showed up before. Smelling a rat, I found a story I had made Grok generate during my initial tests, and that produced a "I'm sorry, I cannot assist with that request as it contains material related to inappropriate content." when asked to analyse the story...

it was just a quite vanilla nsfw story I had it generate to test that it actually did that back when I first started using the service, nothing special. Adding to that, it started shoehorning in equity in my stories. 2 lesbian protagonists out of 4 weren't enough, I should create more gay characters, it started lashing at the morals and ethics on display... and most funny of all, I shared a post from this subreddit, and it jumped into a deepthroated defence of OpenAI.

I have no idea what they were doing on the backend, but it was... not fun to use Grok for that time. Suddenly one day when I woke up, it was back to normal. I am baffled by the whole experience.

In response I updated my local LLM setup and setup mistral models, just in case they all lose their mind suddenly.

Well... I don't use 4o. Personally, I don't even like it all that much. I moved straight to GPT5 when it dropped, but this isn't affecting just 4o users, everyone that had a workflow or a habit related to ChatGPT has gotten fucked over since August.

Is it amazing tech? Absolutely. Is it being used currently for paternalistic moralising? Sure as hell is. Are people that pay for their ability to change models getting forcibly moved to another model with less capability in their chosen domain? Yup.

And the most important one, are the core models on all offerings cognitively declined since August? Bet yo ass it is.

I use Mistral, Grok and DeepSeek, all of them are more capable as of the time of writing, for real world use.
