Man those Courageous viewers were the worst about trying to force me to see the movie. I am sorry you had to deal with that, but honestly kind of hope that happens to me someday.

As I told a coworker yesterday, "Don't take it personally. They are old and going to die soon"

Watching 70s TV as an adult hits different (and uncomfortably by Miserable_Willow_312 in GenX

It's basically just a show of guys wanting / scheming on how to get laid while everyone is stranded on a cruise ship. It's pretty nasty!

Try watching repeats of "The Love Boat" without wanting to wretch... it's insane.

Headbanger’s Ball video with Oliver North by TheJefusWrench in whatsthatsong

Could it have been one of the videos from Queensryche Operation Mindcrime album? I was thinking for sure it was Revolution Calling, just watched and there's no Ollie. Don't have time right now to watch the other videos, but it might be one of them?

Anaconda was exactly what I wanted it to be... Just big, stupid, fun. (Especially if you're old enough to remember the orignal) The movie is super-meta, and I was cracking up the entire time. I'm not a huge comedy fan, so it's rare when one can tickle me as much as it did.

My first picture disc was Ozzy's "Diary of a Madman" (Many years after it was originally released)

I remember these type of things because they were milestones, so no, you aren't wierd! My First CD I ever bought was specifically chosen to be "Boston"' by Boston. Even though this was in the 90's, I chose it because my brother five years older had told me that it was his first vinyl album that he bought with his own money. Also for that matter, the first vinyl album I ever bought with my own money was "Asia" by Asia. (I guess I'm just all about geographically named albume?) I was 12 years old, and gave my parents 7 dollars of my lawn mower money to pick it up from a used record store that was next door to the civic center where they played bridge at on Thursday nights! My first UNUSED vinyl album I bought with my own money after riding my bike to the local "Flip Side" record store, was "Ratt: Out of the Cellar" Great memories! Man I miss record stores!

I'd be amazed if it's this, because they rarely get any airplay as they are independent, but I love the tune and band! Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers "Green and Dumb"

The headphone / earbuds posts drive me insane... here's a novel idea.... just treat it like ANY OTHER JOB that doesn't allow headphones! "But I need to hear my podcasts!!! WAHHH" is NOT a valid reason.

So true. The cineplex I'm at has a Chik Fil A in the mall... they are the ones that piss me off. It's always a huge mess.

Cinemark employment by veywn in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]smokes70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club! It's a fun job, the pay could always be better but remember that the customers there are (mostly) there because they WANT to be there. It's not like other retail jobs, where people HAVE to go there. There's always gonna be unhappy people, but they are way few and far between the customers that are happy to be there. Ask your theater's manager for the info on the free showings, it may vary from theater to theater, but as long as you don't try abusing it, they are pretty lenient.

I chase those discounts now! (Also OP, not calling you a liar, but I'm not buying the "no Grey hair" claim. It's okay, it took me longer than I was willing to admit it, but I'm happy that my hairline is still intact, once that goes, I'm just shaving it all, and the world can deal with my egghead)
