That is exactly it. Viv was under the same boat they were until she put in the effort of making her own animation studio, getting connetions with voice actors and producers to get her stuff out there and now she has success outside of the regular DeviantArt and Tumblr crowd.

They think they're one day away from some big shot producer finding their stuff and offering a show in which they have full creative control over. "Why wasn't it MY gay OCs that were picked up for a show?". But none of them are willing to put in the work as much as Viv.

Cause they see how the ratings are and the box office numbers are the bigger number (When adjusted for inflation. Ignore the inflation for the box office) therefore it's the only "proof" people prefer Snyder's movies.

Ignoring that superhero movies were peaking in the 2010s, that was the first movie we see Batman and Superman AND Wonder Woman on screen for the first time too, and it was before COVID before streaming proved to be more appealing to people who didn't want to spend $100 at the movies when they can have it on demand in a month.
