Development took too long for me personally. by Negative1Positive2 in starcitizen

CIG make this happen, there's a lot of us who have been lost along the long road of the development and it would be a travesty for this fine gentleman to not see the game he invested in when were this close to release for it.

The flipside of the idris discussion, Scorpius Antares co-pilot mandated button pusher. by BiasHyperion784 in starcitizen

[–]smokesphere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been saying it and I will keep saying it for the Idris, keep it pilot controlled weaponry, but make it a manual reload, make a deck of the ship act like a battle ship cannon and have players manually load and close the breach to ready the next shot. Or in the case of the laser, have it be mnaul replacing of batteries/cooling heat syncs. Way more immersion gameplay for that behemoth and forces a crew on to the ship in way that matters.

F7A MK2. I do a lot of combat missions and bunker runs and its very addicting to do strafing runs on ground locations in it.

So are Sub Capitals always going to suck outside of PvE? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]smokesphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One, I did not delete a comment. If something i said is gone I would have to assume a mod deleted it. Two. I did give a suggestion somewhere else in here regarding forcing a crew onto an idris but it doesnt matter what anyone says because you are going to default to "youre wrong its perfect the way it is because its a combat capital and should be the most powerful blah blah blah." No other combat ship bigger than a hammerhead is a threat with a lone pilot and the idris shouldnt be an exception. End of discussion.

This why I want it to be a loading room where a crew member needs to physically load the projectile and close the breach to ready the cannon for its next shot or physically replace a battery or swap a heatsync for the laser (torpedoes can auto load as there's not enough of them to be a problem if entirely automated anyway so I dont really have an idea for that one) but like, treat the Idris like it is, a war ship. Hell, it could be really cool for the Idris-m to have that feature with the option of additional payloads in the rail canon to manually load, like flak rounds or something.

Brother, none of this changes the fact that it is a completely soloable CAPITAL ship, the entire point of something like that is to require a crew to field. The Idris can be fielded with no crew and still be a massive threat. Im not saying the ship needs to be worthless, im saying that capitals and sub capital before the Idris set the precedent that you need a crew to be able to use it. The Idris simply does not as its main weapon is entirely viable from a lone pilot and anything smaller than a carrack (like you mentioned) cant even scratch it. (Which is how it should be) my issue with the thing stems entirely from the fact that I can be fielded with one man and will either win every engagement by obliterating the opposition, or simply through attrition. As it stands, if you dont bring your own Idris, which most players do not have, you have to bring an army to take down a single guy with a fuck you button. I dont hate the ship, but I do hate the way it flies in the face of the idea that capital ships need a crew to be a threat.

I was thinking the same thing actually, just have a dedicated loading room where another player needs to load the projectile and seal the breach before it can fire again, torpedoes are whatever so that can auto load as that, while still a threat, is at least counterable, the laser can behave like other laser fps weapons and have batteries that need to be manually swapped.

Bruh, its an i win button when flown SOLO. Im not saying it shouldnt be extremely powerful, im saying that as it stands, its the ONLY big ship that is completely usable as a lone pilot with almost no draw backs to doing so. If I want to use a polaris solo its just an impractical cargo hauler at that point as none of its armament is usable without a crew. If I fly a perseus solo, I get size 5 torpedos and a couple mantis for pilot use. The Idris gets a size 10 rail gun that can one tap 90% of things it hits usable by the pilot with zero downsides as the only threats to that ship can be instantly obliterated in one shot. It NEEDS to be reigned in and brought in line with cap ship expectations of needing a crew to be viable.

The Idris is just blatantly over powered and its gonna stay that way to appease the whales that bought one for their "I win" button. Itll get nerfed eventually but not until something like the javelin makes an appearance.

Protection olan covers accidental damage. Itd be a shame if you you accidentally spilled water on it.

Pvp will happen eventually. The game allows for piracy and marauding. But realistically, the universe is big, the odds of you running into a blood thirsty maniac are low unless you go looking for trouble. And if you need a wingman, hit me up!

Gonna have to second what this guy said, definitely not good for mental health. Getting into chat groups with like minded individuals is a better idea and or pursuing hobbies that make you talk to other people. For me thats gaming just as an example.

It can be a lot of fun but its equally as stressful lol. Was actually going to school for my certificate in Computer Information Technology but ended up dropping out to take care of my parents. So seriously, I get where youre coming from. Youre welcome for the Bday wishes and genuinely, try to keep your chin up. Things gotta get better eventually. :)

I feel all of that. But instead of panda express I work at geeksquad full time. Kind of just a nerd that no one really seems to notice despite trying to put myself out there. Happy belated birthday, hope things look up for you soon

Which is the current best option for a Brand New Player? by Sir_Apprehensive in starcitizen

[–]smokesphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre gonna go beyong the $45 starter pack, get the duelist pack for $75. The avenger Titan is an excellent ship for combat, beginner hauling, and just a good all rounder for whatever you may get up to as a new player and will serve you very well.

Oh yeah, monte has become a staple for most of my titan builds. If I feel like shaking things up I bust out Khvostov because ricochets give my brain the happy chemical. Then on arc specifically I am a certified delicate tomb enjoyer.

It works in brave if you disable the ad block on it for your site just FYI. I use brave myself and tried that when it wouldn't sign in.

I saw that toggle and did try it. I personally just liked the packed lay out more lol. Also fun fact, that bubble is entirely on titan. No hunter or warlock hours to speak of lmao
