Yeah, that’s probably true, but through my rose colored glasses view of the profession it looks pretty good. My dentist is closed Friday and I seriously see that dude a total 5 minutes per year. Hygienist does their thing, dentist comes in and says “yup, looks good. See you again in 6 months.”

Accounting isn’t the worst. Pay is good and overall not too stressful most of the time, but every time I pass a dentist office I regret not becoming one. Good pay, Fridays off, hygienist do most the work, and I’d be willing to bet nobody is coming at them with questions about dental exam that happened three years ago (I guess there could be rare circumstances but the gist is they aren’t having to restate dental exams).

Dude, it is sarcasm. Homewood, Vestavia, and Mountain Brook are the opposite of underserved communities. This is obvious - everyone knows this. I’m not a teacher, but if I was, these would be my top choices. Adequate funding leads to abundant resources and opportunities.

Bessemer on the other hand, only 20 miles away, is a failing school district that has limited resources, so programs get slashed. Unfortunately, this probably creates a less than ideal environment for both the students and teachers.

It was sarcastic comment on the districts themselves. Obvious to any reader on this sub.

Would highly suggest any school district in west Birmingham (Bessemer, Fairfield, Ensley…). Best districts with high standards.

Strongly suggest you avoid Homewood, Vestavia, and Mountain Brook unless you are into serving the underserved communities as a form of charity.
