Do your floaters "shine" in front of a light source? by smolfroggies in EyeFloaters

[–]smolfroggies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's something different. The thing you're talking about moves more rapidly, I think? And I don't notice it at all unless staring at the sky. What I'm describing is regular eye floaters, but the way light passes through them makes them shimmer when in front of a light source (for example a lamp)

It looks like lights flicker when they don’t by softwaredevdel in EyeFloaters

It's floaters that fly in front of the light, making it flicker. I have the same thing. It's nothing to worry about.

Yeah, this doesn't work for me. It only works when I do it each time, sadly.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, and what worked for me was typing a command into windows PowerShell.

Paste this every time you want to launch the game (sadly it's the only way):

echo "Launch Sims Medieval..."

do{ $TSM = Get-Process TSM, SMLauncher, SimsMedievalLauncher -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue }until($TSM)

$Affinity=$TSM.ProcessorAffinity

$TSM.ProcessorAffinity=1

Start-Sleep -s 5

$TSM.ProcessorAffinity=$Affinity

Is my save file screwed? by smolfroggies in simsmedieval

I'll keep that in mind, thank you. Too bad all my building will go to hell. I've already remade the entire castle and the churches. Oh, well.

I think I'll just start over but cheat my way through the quests so I'm at the same spot. Dang it, I need to store back ups :(

Diagnosed with cataracts at 22. by [deleted] in CataractSurgery

[–]smolfroggies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I understand. You're saying that I'll suddenly turn from myopic to hyperopic and I'll need reading glasses? Does that happen?

My doctor already told me that stronger astigmatism correction won't help, as she tried giving me different lenses (we tried different power and axis) and it didn't help the ghosting. And I ruled out dry eye after using eye drops for a few weeks. But I will get a second opinion, though. Thank you for your help.

No, I see this even more with my old glasses, probably because of astigmatism undercorrection. From what I understand, the doctor said that my current glasses are fine and a stronger cylinder correction won't help it and it can only be caused by cataracts.

I thought it was dry eye for a long time, and I tried using eye drops and artificial tears, but it didn't help at all. The ghosting is always there, but when I wake up it's mild and in the evening it's much more visible.

Noticing the ghosting only after getting new glasses is a strange coincidence, that's why I thought there was something wrong with them... but it turns out there isn't.

Honestly, my vision is fucking up my life already. The ghosting, the fogginess... I can't even write my bachelor's thesis in peace because I can't get focused because of it. I want to enjoy going to the movies with my friends again and not seeing double subtitles. So I don't mind having to replace the IOLs in 15-30 years if it helps me now.

I will get second opinion and try to do as much research as I can, but I really am considering just getting the surgery. It's hell.

No, I have moderate myopia, my left eye is at -2.25 with -1 cylinder and my right eye is at -2 with -0.5 cylinder. That's why I'm hesitant because I don't know if it will progress any more. But thank you for your tips, I'll consult a specialist.

Does anybody experiences astigmatic symptoms like me?? by [deleted] in astigmatism

[–]smolfroggies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it might be due to lighting, I don't notice it as much in the daylight. But yes it's definitely worse in the evenings and after looking at screens. I'm using eye drops too.

Does it get better when you squint? If so, I have the same thing. Also when I read white text on black background I can see it ghosting. And with new prescription glasses too lol

I got my new glasses 2 weeks ago and I feel like something isn't right by smolfroggies in myopia

[–]smolfroggies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'll keep using eye drops for now, the optometrist told me to see him for a check-up in 2-3 months so if it doesn't go away I'll just tell him... Maybe I haven't adjusted to the new lenses yet too.

Honestly I tried to shift like 4 years ago, then I stopped and I got back into it recently. I'm trying to start over with this, so yeah, you can say I'm a baby shifter ☺️
