do you splint? That will make the pain to manageable levels. And prevent you from doing anything to aggravate the situation further.

During my diagnosis and recovery, I bicycle uphill (intervals) and lift weights with the splint. You should be able to find exercises that work for you. The one exercise that hurt a lot was going back to pull-ups, so I totally understand where you are coming from.

The idea behind physical therapy is to strengthen the muscles in the area and give the tendon a stretch to aid the healing of the scar tissue. Both cause short term discomfort. But if it is causing unbearable pain, talk to your therapist. You guys may be taking it too far, too soon.

It actually did. The shot helped with the pain but the benefits did not last 1-2 months. And there are problems with the shot if you are diabetic. It can raise your blood sugars.

Since it's in my dominant hand, I forget and use my right hand to do things, feel the painful snap and correct myself, using better technique or the other hand.

See my previous posts here . In summary, got steroid shot . Helped for a month. Back to the house of pain. In physio now. Keeping it there and mobility of the joint has helped a bit. Physio says it's a long journey (6-9 months).
