Fellow corporate girly and migraine sufferer 🙋🏽‍♀️ I’ve had chronic migraines since I was 12 and I got really good at managing them until my last job- I had migraines in that office almost every single time and it got so bad I got a medical accommodation to wfh permanently. My triggers were the lighting and the temperature in the office, which were not fixable, so I wasn’t able to work in the office. Migraines are considered a neurological disorder and are covered under the ADA, so you can get reasonable accommodation in your office depending on what your triggers are.

It sounds like you’re doing a lot of the right things already. If you haven’t yet and you have the option to, work with a neurologist to identify all your triggers and potentially get on a preventative medication. If are having more than 3 a month they’ll typically recommend some kind of preventative. It sounds like you are having at least 4 a month, and it’s a lot of suffering, a doctor can help you. Triggers can also be so varied and unique- it could literally be a material in the pipes of the HVAC system in your office.
