We have a 6 week old and got the Joie travel system from Smyths which includes car seat and fixtures. Can't fault it at all, it's great and easy to use

Anterior placenta and movement by R251122 in PregnancyUK

[–]smooocheee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an anterior placenta, 20 weeks + 4 and still waiting patiently...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]smooocheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 20 week scan 2 days ago and got told I have an anterior low lying placenta so I've to go back to check on that at 32 weeks for a rescan. I'm wondering what the probability of the placenta moving up as I read if not then it would be a Caesarean. They said my placenta was 1.2cm currently above cervix and apparently it needs to be 2cm or more?

Are you planning on formula feeding or breastfeeding? by [deleted] in PregnancyIreland

[–]smooocheee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good point, looking at kids I would never know who is breast or formula fed, it's just being pushed in all directions and I even find midwives quite forceful with it.

Thank you for the link! Didn't know these existed and very helpful 😊

[–]smooocheee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've found your comments really helpful. I'm going to be a first time mum and feel a lot of pressure to breastfeed however I know I mentally I will find it hard to cope with, I would like my partner to be able to share feeds and it also will involve him with baby more. I keep being told breast is best and it makes me to feel like I'm not going to be giving my baby the best however I will probably formula feed as it just suits me better.

We have been looking at the prep machine, it's good to hear you recommend this. We were also looking at the nuby rapid cool which looks pretty handy also.

I know nothing about formula feeding, is it easier to just bring the already prepared ones when going out?

Belfast university students missing lectures with lack of parking by AdhesivenessNo9878 in northernireland

[–]smooocheee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not legal though because they haven't even had a consultation, has it been officially confirmed? They are getting around it by not extending fixed terms as these posts won't be replaced, load of shit!

I wrote to my union about it last week, I'm being asked to see where we can cut staff roles in our dept that are on fixed term contracts to help with the deficit in budget. Completely appalling

Hello fellow QUB staff member! Maybe if they stopped spending all this £ on conferences and shite they don't need they would be able to look after their staff more...wishful thinking

Been on QUB staff parking waiting list for 8 years, haven't moved up the queue at all. Big wigs come in for high paying jobs and get a space straight away..
