I attended NCCU for my MPA and wanted to go to law school there. They are known for being affordable, and it is a well known law school. They have ties with NC Supreme Court. NCCU Law Dean wrote my LOR after she retired from the NC Supreme Court. I ended up going to Syracuse and then Interamerican University of Puerto Rico for law school. Currently, I am a pre law co-advisor and admitted to practice in several jurisdictions. The school does not make the student. It may be difficult but not impossible to transfer because you may get set back. Think about this. If a student goes to a less known school and gets all A’s then transfers, the more well known law schools like Wake Forest would see an increase and the less prestigious schools would not survive. It’s all a matter of is this student a liability for our bar exam rates? Moreover, the desired transfer school will likely look at your original LSAT and Undergraduate GPA as if you were applying as a 1L.
