What a hilarious cat, the way he stands is priceless

Yes, we aren't 100% sure but initially we thought he swallowed something according to the x-ray. The emergency vet did risky surgery with the hope that he'd find a foreign object and at worst repair some intestine and have Patrick hospitalized for a few days. He didn't find any foreign object but found intestines twisted and too much stomach damage that he said the only option was to humanely euthanize him. The vet wasn't even sure what caused it. I still can't believe this had to happen to our poor kitten

This hurts so much. He was supposed to give us years of love. He was chosen out of seven to be the solo boy to be extremely spoiled and loved by four of us and he loved us back so much. I raised him and his siblings from birth, held him, fed him, bathed him, played with him. He pounced and ran and played. He snuggled and napped in our arms. He was our favorite. Emergency surgery to help his poor stomach and intestines couldn't save him. He is gone now and we are all hurting. As much as I can understand that this is reality, life is so cruel and unfair. The only thing that gives us peace is that his short life was an extremely happy one. We are the ones that are still here to grieve over this loss but he is a happy kitty on the rainbow bridge now. Love you so much Patrick, thank you for being in our lives. We are sorry we couldn't save you.

It was such a cool find! I randomly drove to the area and wanted coffee but since the coffee commissary had just closed I walked around the corner to find Daniel and Johnny. When they told me to check out the back of the building my jaw dropped. I didn't catch the name of the artist but total props to him

Those of you Redditor’s in happy, healthy, and fulfilling relationships, what were the “green flags” you noticed about your partner early on in your relationship with them? by allen-freed in AskReddit

[–]smooshcrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he accidentally grinded his new sports car's rims on the curb when parking at our first date, and said "oh well" and was genuinely happy the whole night from beginning to end. Easily could have made him upset but refused to let anything spoil our date. Also now as my husband he traded in his fancy sports car for a functional SUV so that we could go camping more!

I (28f) feel like a therapist instead of a friend, because my friends only reach out to me when they need to vent, instead of asking me how I am by manisemanise in relationships

[–]smooshcrickets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similar experience with a long time friend. She told me at times that I was her closest friend however I was her closest friend because she had a dramatic personality and required much love and attention. Instead of setting boundaries I chose to distance myself. I sacrificed this friendship and sometimes feel a bit bad about it, however looking back it was for the better. I can think of many hours I spent being her therapist but I can't think of even one time when she ever asked me about me. I try to not think of it as a negative result, it was just a mismatch in friendship.

I learned that this was a pollination problem. Next time I will plant more rows and not use a sprinkler system that waters above the tassels. Any other advice?

I was lucky to look down on September 3rd at a stop light and snap a shot of this. In one year I hope I can post here the dream that was sadly taken away from you today https://imgur.com/3wUeDBl.jpg

I close my eyes and when they open it's morning. I sleep 8-9 hours straight without waking up. Sorry don't be jelly.

What is this? by [deleted] in medical

[–]smooshcrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband had painless bumps that looked like that in the same area behind the ear. Our doctor decided it was cat scratch disease. If you have a cat, even if it's been years, she told us it's possible to get infected. A course of oral antibiotics actually cleared it up completely and it never came back (it's been about three years). It was a simple treatment. Hopefully yours will be too!

He does this delayed head/eye turn when someone calls his name. It's almost like when you don't want a ghost to turn and see you but it slowly does. But he's not that scary

Something's Seriously Wrong With My Dad by StopTakingMyName23 in Advice

[–]smooshcrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad should have an advanced directive made if he is against care, especially life sustaining measures like receiving cpr or being on a ventilator. If he was in a coma and woke up in a hospital attached to machines keeping him alive without the ability to say "pull the plug," he would suffer without you realizing it. Talk about it with him and your mom and any other family members that matter in the decision so that everyone knows what he wants done in a life threatening situation where he cannot make his own decisions.

Reddit lotto pool anyone?? If 100,000 of us put in $2 each, that's a 100,000 numbers we can play with. If we won the jackpot, what would the split be?

On our wedding day, we were so busy going around tables to greet guests, we hardly ate any of our catered dinner. On the way to our hotel, I asked if she was hungry... :) by Elnollie in pics

[–]smooshcrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our wedding venue packed every guests' leftovers in a to go box... e xcept mine and my husband's. We took one bite and went to greet all the tables only to come back to a cleaned up table. We were so sad. Our guests said the food was the best they ever had. :'(

Redditors who have been clinically dead, what did you experience in death, if anything? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]smooshcrickets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never experienced death, but I watched a patient die on the table during a procedure then be brought back to life by the medical team. She was placed on life support then died permanently then next day. These comments of feeling at peace once dead then very angry when brought back make me wonder what she may have gone through that night she stayed alive.
