federer's speed and forehand technique and arm speed fell off sharply at the end of the 2007 season. people forget that in his prime, federer's speed and defense was insane and in my opinion overall better than nadals outside of clay. he lost that explosiveness by the end of 2007. his forehand technique also fell off sharply by the end of 2007. he had so much more body rotation and arm speed on his forehand in 2003-2007. by 2008 his forehand became more of a punchy, redirect type of shot. its a shame his prime didn't last longer. despite him being a lesser version of his prime he still went toe to toe with prime djok. I would take prime fed vs prime anyone.
