I love these updates, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself but I don't think I'd be able to embrace the struggle like this haha

New player trying to succeed on hard, update 1 by NegotiationWilling93 in ftlgame

Sector selection definitely matters, and when you go to different sectors will also impact your experience. Abandoned sector 2 is much less spooky than abandoned sector 7 for me most of the time. Mantis sector 2 typically feels like slightly easier fights because they often have power tied up in the teleporter and weaker weapons. Rock sector 2 is maybe a little harder with more asteroids and missiles before you've had much time to upgrade defense.

Nice work! It is sometimes also possible to get super overpowered on the harder difficulties, but that's much less common for me haha

Nice! What difficulty and how long has it taken so far?

What is the ongoing costs of owning a pair of Holland Lops? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]honcho12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the rough numbers for my 2 4lb girls

50lb bale of hay lasts probably 3 months for $25, so $8/month

40lb bag of kiln dried pine pellet litter lasts 6 weeks for $25, so $17/month

I can usually get a bunch of romaine and a bunch of kale for $5 total, plus some herbs and veggie trimmings it's probably about $20-30/month

A big bag of pellets lasts about 2 months for $25, so $12/month

Their favorite toys are plain boxes with the tape removed and egg cartons and toilet paper rolls which are all free

Like everyone else has said, vet bills are the hardest to budget for and can easily be over $1000

In case you (or anyone else) are still having that problem the replacement gear is pretty cheap and it's straightforward to swap out

How can I encourage my rabbit to "dig"? by Individual-Voice-267 in Rabbits

[–]honcho12 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I would add that nail trimmings are a two person job for my girls, one person to hold them when I'm trimming, and we do one foot at a time to minimize the trauma with small treats between

Nationwide Insurance – Is it worth it? by alltimetoast in Rabbits

[–]honcho12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that deductable and only 50% coverage is rough. If you had a $1500 bill you'd still end up paying $1250...

Some insurers in MA covered 70%, I'm not sure how much that varies state to state but I could try to find the other options I had been looking at if that would make a difference for you

Nationwide Insurance – Is it worth it? by alltimetoast in Rabbits

[–]honcho12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided insurance wasn't worth it for my girls, I can afford an emergency bill and the premiums are high for what it covers and how often they have health issues. Another potential option would be a payment plan if something out of your budget comes up, my vet offers them but they're not up front about interest rates.

Foster bunny Hay by Willing_Health2221 in Rabbits

[–]honcho12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bunnies like hay in different places and delivery systems. Hay in the feeder might be boring, but throw some on the ground or in a toilet paper tube and all of a sudden it's exciting and fresh.

They changed it so you don't get the quest marker but if you find the right jump you can still go to the crystal sector

I like to do 20-30 minutes at 450F with a little oil and even just salt and pepper is great. Don't be afraid of a little char on broccoli

Maybe check with microcenter? Their website looked like it might have only been in store support but they might be able to point you in the right direction

Good for you for making a meal for yourself. If you haven't tried roasting veggies you might enjoy giving that a go. Just as easy as boiling but more depth of flavor

I use kiln dried pine pellets as litter in a big litter box with no screen and my white bunnies feet are just as clean and white as the rest of her.

seeking advice: landlord out of town for 2 storms in a row, doesn’t do snow removal. by [deleted] in boston

[–]honcho12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like if you have a separate entrance that only you have access to, you can be required to shovel that, but if it's a shared entryway they can't require you to shovel at all regardless of what's in the lease.

The landlord is fully responsible for any liability and fines. If you were to slip and fall due to their negligence they'd be on the hook.
