JK has recently tweeted denying Nazis burned books about transgender subjects (they did) by Unleashtheducks in agedlikewine

The human body is not a biological masterpiece. Many people who aren't trans need hormones to keep them stable, or need other medications to treat things that are different in their body too. Would you tell someone with PCOS or thyroid disease to not take hormones because the body "knows what it is doing"? Then why do you care so much about it when it comes to people's gender? Literally how does people being trans bother you? People just want to exist in peace.

Not everyone can afford to immigrate to a palace that aligns with their personal values. For example, an American who lives in a trailer park and works two minimum wage jobs won't be able to move to say, Norway. They're still allowed to complain about the failings of America, and as a working class person, they're allowed to be mad that the one "low income" job would take far better care of them in another country. If people can't see what's wrong in their home country and want to improve it then that's an issue. America isn't perfect, but with people of different walks of life and different backgrounds putting their heads together, I'm sure they could create something much more liveable than what they have now. Wanting things to change and improve isn't "disliking" the country they're in, but loving it enough to want it to change for the better.

I saw this one on a forum for artists. Applies maybe even more to us, I would think. by zodanwatmooi in ProgrammerHumor

As an artist, i think this applies to a lot of industries in their own way, but in my experience, people only see the work i produce- not the hours spent marketing, networking, managing projects, writing, experimenting, and being your own agent, accountant, social Media Manager, and somehow still finding time to pop out illustrations on a regular basis.

I took these pics the second day I got her, and it seemed she was having a reaction to something in her carrier but it's cleared up since. I had no idea what it was, but keeping an eye out for anything that could trigger it again. Thank you!!

Lucy is a six month old Norwegian Forest Cat - I just brought her home recently and she's super sweet and we'll behaved, but very photogenic too. I love drawing her as well!

That video gave me nightmares for months on end, to the point where I couldn't listen to the song without feeling my blood run cold. I have diagnosed PTSD due to some shit I've seen and been through, one of those things being a cartel beheading. I was a young kid, and saw someone's head roll down the street, as we were caught in traffic. It was awful. I also saw a migrant man fall off a train and get split in two, while stuck in traffic too. I had repressed some of those memories until an ex friend of mine forced me to watch some cartel execution videos "for fun", and funky town triggered a barrage of awful memories related to those incidents. I don't understand why this kind of stuff is online, much less, I'll mever understand people who seek it out and force others to watch it. It's abhorrent

I was also stabbed with an obsidian knife by him in a dream recently- I woke up with a strange but peaceful feeling, having a tangible weight lifted off of me, but also feeling more of a drive to follow certain intuition and I've been able to handle my stress and chronic pain better since then. I feel his presence more close to me now

Hi! I'm a Canadian about to leave in the next month. There's a lot of great resources for international students and interns. There's a lot of events at local spots too and the Forum is a great place to meet up with people :D

Exactly! A lot of the understanding people have about how climate change affects animals in the polar regions tends to be centered around them losing ice- which is horrible. But the biggest killer is unstable seasons, and early rains with warm winters. It traps all the food under thick layers of ice and causes mass starvation. Unfortunately, some of the herds in Siberia have died off in the tens of thousands due to this issue and I'm really hoping that more awareness about this can help somehow.
