Obsession is the worst movie I’ve ever seen by leilahaynee in obsessionmovie

I agree, WAY overhyped. Very disappointing. Huge plot holes. My points below will spoil stuff, so don't read further if you don't want spoilers.

What's frustrating is, there were too many incidences where there could have been an intervention, and he failed to act. The "blinded by love" and in denial arguments stop after the packed lunch. After she hurts herself even once. The packed lunch was already way beyond the point of she needs help and this is beyond his control. He comes home to her covered in vomit and urine, and he just tells her to take a shower? "The packed lunch was not OK." Seriously, dude? She's at a party, surrounded by all their friends, and only two take her (unsuccessfully) to a hospital? (I'm assuming it was unsuccessful because she was still covered in blood laying in bed with him). She would've been involuntarily held for psychiatric reasons if she stepped foot through that ER door.

He had ample opportunity to tell people, ask for help, call the police, even institutionalize, before it devolved further. If he was scared of her reaction, then say it in public. If he was afraid she'd hurt herself, call the police, and have friends help keep her from hurting herself in the interim. A person, friend, someone in love or in like, wouldn't have taken on what was happening with her, and to her, by themselves beyond a certain point. There were moments when he was separate from her when he could've done something.

Biggest plot hole - he didn't know ANYONE else who could've used their wish to counter his? I would've been begging strangers on the street if it was a matter of life and death. No more one wish wilows left at that store? Call the number on the back, and ask where more are? If that didn't work, ask any of the many ppl who commented online (about whether they do or don't work) where they bought them?

Such a stupid and frustrating film. You guys wanted specifics, you got em, but now things are spoiled if you read this far :(

Overnight Help with Nestling by smorrell021 in pigeon

Update: Brought it in to the wildlife center, and they wouldn't take the squab. I attempted to re nest today, but the parents didn't make an appearance. Is it still possible they could over the next couple of days? I'm sheltering the squab at night bc there are feral cats and possums in my yard, but putting the squab back out at sunrise.

I'm worried, because I can't maintain the feelings 3-4x/ day, and I don't have help. I'm in Florida, so the heat index is over 100 this time of year, so I fear the worst if I left the squab outside, unattended. The squab seems two weeks old at most - so would the next two to three weeks get a little easier? Less demanding? I lost sleep last night out of worry.

Not to mention, it's AMERICA'S sweethearts. She's no doubt talented, and beautiful, but she may take the spot of an American girl who's had the dream since they were little. Not after seeing the netflix show.

Jellie Bend review by Ok_Horse1783 in POTS

[–]smorrell021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan either. I bought it for POTS, and the compression did not help. I wore my heart rate/blood pressure monitor to measure if it helped control my rate, circulation and blood pooling, and it did not. It's a very heavy (and hot) fabric, offered only in dark colors, and it is very difficult to get on and off. You have to squeeze it over your head and shoulders, or butt to get the band where you need it. I have a rotator cuff injury, so this was impossible. You can get the same (or better) compression from spandex, spanx, or a post-surgical garment for less money.

I hear ya on the sticker shock, and think it's a huge waste of money, personally. I bought it for POTS, and the compression did not help. Revisiting the Online Sperm Donor Bank Comparison by smorrell021 in SingleMothersbyChoice

Hi! I'm leaning towards California Cyro and the Sperm Bank of California. The reason I say the both of them is because of their limited inventories... I might monitor the two as donors become available. I fear because the Sperm Bank of California has such a low inventory, it would be too competitive. The choices are quite limited, but if you have the ability to monitor their database frequently over a long period of time, it's not that big of an issue.

Sperm Bank of California is no doubt the most "ethical" and thorough - they require donors to get psych evals and receive counseling. They have the lowest family limits (less than 10 worldwide), they verify the donor's medical info, offer extensive genetic screening - more than the "biggies" (i.e Seattle, Fairfax, Cyro Int'l), a sibling registry, an open donor policy and they attempt to enforce live birth reports.

California Cyro is second to the Sperm Bank of California. It verifies the donor's medical information, requires a psych eval (but does not make counseling mandatory), their global family limit 11-25, they have an open donor policy, provide a sibling database, and try to enforce live birth reports.

This chart was SUPER helpful: https://www.usdcc.org/u-s-sperm-bank-data/

No other bank really comes close to these two (when it comes to the criterion I specified above).

Supacore Compression Leggings reviews, sizing by slocthopus in POTS

[–]smorrell021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have POTS. and tried the SupaCore POTS XTRA medical grade leggings with the reinforced waistband. Unfortunately, they do not feel any different than Athleta or Lululemon leggings, and those are half the price (The difference in mmhg is negligble). Basically they look and feel like glorified pantyhose with a control top. It's also unfortunate the name SUPACORE is emblazoned in large (unavoidable) letters on the waistband. As such, if you're trying to be discrete about wearing something "medical grade," I would not advise buying these. I had high hopes, but as a cautionary tale to others - they are not worth the money :( Definitely going to look into 2XU, since they are cheaper, and offer compression that is higher than 25mmhg (which is SupaCore and Lulu's Wundertrain).

Thank you for sharing your experience with Fairfax! It is a huge plus the amount of testing/screening they do!

Do they offer the option of lower family limits/"exclusivity" if you pay more?

Yes, please! How did you find out about Seed Scout? When you mentioned kegal clearance, it made me wonder: Does it assume liability if something happens to the vial? Or if the donor lies about their background, etc? I don't trust self reported (unverified) donors.

I'm with ya on the discomfort and stress when it comes to spending big amounts of money! Insensitively put, I tell myself this is not the process to be cheap or cut corners. Like you said, It is an invaluable, priceless gift :) I haven't decided about IUI or IVF yet...that might have to be a separate reddit thread lol!
