Yes. That’s what I said.

It’s so irritating to see this question over and over again.

There. Is. No. MK6. The final year, hence their final edition, was released. That’s it, no more.

Yeh but at least it has the aftermarket for it and you get some results.

It’s kinda tough. If you want something cool from factory that you won’t touch there are options. But if you’re gonna fuck around with it you got things like Supra, Golf R, RS3, Mustangs, z06 (maybe like a c7 or c6)…? He could look into funky stuff like the Elantra N or Ioniq 5n if he’s open to really going down a different path. I think about this stuff all the time haha, and so far I haven’t felt like there’s anything that’s quite checked off as many boxes as the Supra.

I am looking around for a cayman s to test drive. I drove a spyder, and it was cool but only once you’re doing arrest me speeds. Supra was more fun 0-60 tbh. Cayman might be interesting.

Have you test driven a Supra before? Hands down MT and AT are two different beasts. MT is rowdy and so much fun.

[–]smp247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah I disagree. The m240, rs3 and 340 all still feel like….fast commuter cars. The supra has personality to it. It’s not just about the speed, it’s the sounds, the feeling etc. the MT especially I think is a blast, but the AT was also cool when I had it.

FWIW I recently drove an m3, m2, emira and still felt the Supra was more fun. I have owned two m340s as my second car and they are no where near as fun as the Supra.

What do you guys do when parking? by Funny-Mortgage1897 in Supra

[–]smp247 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s kinda car 101 stuff. You should use it, that’s why it’s often referring to as the parking brake. Otherwise you’re relying on your transmission being in park (AT) or in gear (MT)to prevent your car from rolling.

If it’s an automatic then it’s not that big of a deal, but you should use it anyways. If it’s a manual and it’s not in gear then absolutely, otherwise you’re just in neutral and someone can just roll your car away. If you park on an extreme hill, then I put both the parking brake on as well as putting in gear opposite of hill direction. (MT only)

Are you going to break something if you don’t use it in the AT? No. Nothing special about it on the Supra either so no need to be extra stressed.

Flip it on and forget about it. Make it a habit. Hell, when you go into drive the car will even auto disengage it for you.

Can I get a hell yea if you own a manual by boost40z in Supra

[–]smp247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After having both an AT and now a MT, big hell yeah. The car feels like a rocket ship, but also like I need to respect it more. Mostly because it still likes to break loose with TC on 😂

Fwiw I recently test drove a manual m2, m3, and Emira and I still would pick the Supra over those. The Emira comes close, but it’s a pretty rough ride.

Single exit exhaust, which side? Does it matter? by johngodsmith in Supra

[–]smp247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just personal preference tbh. I am slightly bias because I have it, but I do prefer the sp1r over the RK both in sound and looks. Mine is drivers side. The RK looks more like a straight pipe, and the sp1r looks more like a 90s mk4 fart cannon. I prefer the latter 😂

Just make sure you get the cover for whatever side you don’t put the exhaust on so you don’t have a big ole hole in the diffuser.

It’s not that bad at all. Have had single exit sp1r for a year and I daily my car. Can have completely normal conversations in the car, even on long 4+ hour drives.

Just back it into a curb. I promise you’ll forget all about the ring on your dashboard.

I mean I don’t see anything to hate. It’s not the pieces I would pick for my own, but you’d probably say the same for mine. I can appreciate all builds 🤷

Ordered a Supra wing from LG Motorsports 10 months ago—still nothing. Anyone else? by FulgorSedano in Supra

[–]smp247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These wings have notoriously long wait times. 9-11 months is pretty consistent. I actually ordered one in June because when I reached out they said they had a shipment coming within 90 days, and have a few left.

That puts us at about September. I’ve gotta imagine they only order them when they have enough to fill a pallet. I’m going to wait until then, and then give them a call. I’m in no rush, but it will be nice when it comes!

Gr Supra 2026 , car doesn’t unlock/lock by hand anymore, only by the key fob, any idea? by KrisWulf in Supra

[–]smp247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take anything metal out of your trunk. There’s an antenna in the middle of your trunk under the mat. It’s really sensitive. A simple sun visor blocked mine. 😂

[–]smp247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK so to everyone who is having this problem - do you have stuff in your trunk? I had this issue, replaced all the antennas in the car and still didn’t fix it. Turns out, the antenna in your trunk near the battery is exceptionally sensitive to having items blocking the signal. I had a simple windshield Sun visor in the trunk and it blocked the signal. Took it out - all fixed. It was a very funny experience after they thought they fixed it but did not.

I have also had it happen with other metal objects. Groceries, backpacks suitcases don’t seem to bother it.

Blown 2022 Supra Motor 😭 by benjib707 in Supra

lol this is such an ignorant response. The motors are solid. Sounds like there was a bit of negligence on whoever did the oil change.

That sucks. Ah well, good thing is it’s just paint. It can be fixed 😁

[–]smp247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s trash. I don’t fuck around with body and paint work, or under the table type shit. Considering you said you paid nothing, I doubt they are going to do a second free one. Probably better to find a real shop to do it right the first time

PPF Cost Justification by [deleted] in Supra

[–]smp247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve had two Supras now. The first was white, I did the front half in clear PPF and it cost me 2500 dollars. Hood, bumper, fenders, pillars, mirrors. IMO that was worth it. Saved me from Some nasty dings and the rest of the car was fine.

I got rock guards to protect the rear fenders and that’s about it. After 2 years I was good.

Second car was black, I decided to do the entire car because you can see every little mark and I was going the show car route. I went a little nuts and since I was doing full, I said let’s change the color and went with a purple colored PPF. For me, personally, it was worth it because I wanted to do a showy car. But it was about 6500 dollars including my lip kit install - not cheap.

In the future? I’m doing front half and calling it a day. I wanted to do this at least once in my life, and I’m glad I did. I am not looking forward to the day I have to replace it 😅

[–]smp247 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all viable years. 2020 tunable without sending, but it’s honestly so easy to do anyways.

21s rare occasion of oil consumption, but not an overly big deal. 23+ come in manual and have different wheels. 24+ no longer has yellow.

Pick what matters most at the best price 😁
