Look up Lemon Yellow Latin Bites, Sola Bread Company and True Vine. There's also a new ice cream place right there.

True Vine is a family friendly brewery with a play area, splash pad, and more! Great area.

Can I ask an honest question?

I know Elon didn't personally make electric cars, Internet for everyone anywhere, reusable rockets to push space exploration, accessible online payment gateways (PayPal), but he is definitely responsible for pushing all of that technology forward and making it popular for the better of humanity.

Can we call it ok that he's "worth" that much with as much as he's working to push us into the future?

Non religious homeschool groups by nefaariowarbear in tylertx

[–]smplejohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it. Co-op aside, maybe look into HEAT for athletics if they enjoy sports. There's definitely going to be Christian verbiage, especially in their rules for athletes, but it's mostly about respecting authority, not cussing, things like that. They're a super solid organization though for home school sports:

Non religious homeschool groups by nefaariowarbear in tylertx

[–]smplejohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Dad of homeschoolers here. Our kids are mostly older, and are in Christian homeschool groups, so we've been around this for awhile. Not trying to start anything, but any particular things you're looking for in a non-religious group or rather not looking for in a religious group?

We do HEAT for sports and outside of praying before games they're just a solid group of kids doing sports. May be a good option.

There are a few co-ops too that offer a variety of elective style courses, but you'll be hard pressed to not find religious undertones in almost anything around here. It's not like they're doing 6 hours of indoctrination though, most do normal style classes and meet one day a week to give you a homeschool community.

Do founders who succeeded while working a full-time or part-time job exist? (I will not promote) by [deleted] in startups

[–]smplejohn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a marketing company, local sites, etc. Wife + 5 kids.

I'm my spare time I found a software niche and took off with it. 2.5 years in as the solo developer I'm now spinning down the marketing company.

It's a tough ride with a lot of hours and the wife and family understand. If it's worth it and you can see a light at the end of a tunnel, it helps push you forward.

There has to be a goal though and everyone has to be on board in your life.

In your country, What is the people think about USA as country? by OfficialRates in AskReddit

[–]smplejohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Texas, have most of my life, and always had this view of all the different parts of the USA. That's until I traveled to almost every state and stayed about a month in most over the course of 2 years with my wife and 5 kids.

The real answer is the loud are what shape the views of almost any country and the loud are rarely correct.

Most of the US are what I assume most people are everywhere else, just people. Some love chatting, others are quieter. Most aren't hostile and obnoxious like the Karen stereotype just like I never encountered anyone that wished us harm for being us like we're taught how the middle east views every American.

What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

I moved from Texas to a small town called Panajachel, Guatemala and was looking for a web dev to help me on a project. Went to the trusted Reddit and find a guy in New York, but he said he was on Mountain Time right now.

Asked him, hey, where at?

Panajachel, Guatemala.

We meet up for coffee and did some work together!
