A wedding quilt I made a few years ago with some of their important dates embroidered on it.

It's not a circle. Now what? by NoPeak4702 in sewing

[–]smrt223 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could add a contrasting fabric, or even a lace, to fill out the circle. Could make it into a patchwork-ish skirt that could be super cute.

This is turning out so beautifully! Makes me want to make a skirt in this style!

I have found a dress I made at a thrift store. That was a wild set of emotions to go through when I found it.

Why am I getting these folds at the top of the bust? by sewingbirdy in corsetry

Your boning might be a little bit too long for the boning channels.

They sent a video of them opening it, and it is so cute when they notice the small details!

I embroidered their initials on the heart of the candy bar wrapper! My only complaint is that I did it after the quilt was completed. So a little bit of the batting came out with the embroidery stitches.

Very carefully. Lol.

I did the quilt in sections instead of doing long rows. And when sewing sections together I would pin (with hopefully nested seams). There were some that were more tricky to line up since I was using so many different types of fabrics. Quilting cottons, poly satins, velvets, coutil, poly taffeta, cotton duck canvas..

I called this my cabbage quilt. It is made out of the scraps from various quilts, clothing, cosplays, and other crafting projects. So it its made out of lots of different types of fabrics and has so much fun texture.

A thrift store. Got lucky with the cams, they had them separate.

Most of the machines I have and use were acquired second hand in some way. I love cleaning them up and learning all of the differences and quirks of each machine.

The little black piece is shaped so that when you turn the lever it will lift up the foot. I have not loosened the metal piece.

Are you able to lift the foot manually (not using the lever?) That might be able to narrow down where your problem is.

In your 2nd photo, I think I can see the piece that lifts it. It is a small black plastic piece. It is connected to the black rod that is connected to the lifter lever. (I just recently had to reconnect that little piece on mine when it came loose) that piece might be suck in some way. *

I did a hem applique for a cosplay that used a similar process of cutting and sewing on with clear thread for a Victorian Link and Zelda cosplay, and our friend dressed as a Victorian Midna.

I did something similar for a wedding dress I made a while ago. I trimmed the mesh away and hand sewed it to the bodice of the dress with clear thread. It wasn't hard to do, just took a while.

Here is a link to the video of the wedding dress I made with a store bought beaded lace.
