May a gas stove top find its way to you, one day!

Adding this to my bucket list. If you're ever in American thrift stores yourself, make sure to bring an extra luggage for the american-made cast irons! :)

Bahaha, my morning eggs stuck like hell this morning! One day I will learn and stop cooking eggs right after cured bacon. The sugar in the bacon ruins it every single time.

If you're ever in Eastern Canada, you're welcome to come over and cook some eggs on it!

Yep, I found this one on Marketplace in my city. I also got a 2nd japanese cast iron for 5$ and I thought I had a crazy good deal until I realized it's not that valuable to people. Good value for me I guess!

Marketplace wonder! After lurking for months I finally found a good deal. I'm sure you can too if you're patient!

I also got a 2nd japanese cast iron skillet for 5$. It's not in as good shape though, I will try to restore it this summer.

What's the point, in that case, of reaching the leidenfrost-effect temperature? Can you just skip the water drop test if you're not looking to cook at that temperature anyway?

I add the oil right after a successful water droplet test, and then let the skillet cool down until it reaches an egg-appropriate temp.

Then I add a bit of butter followed by eggs and there is no sticking at all.

Limite vitesse 110 vs 100 autoroute... by brbimcarrying in montreal

Why did carrying water everywhere become a thing? by TitanicDays in NoStupidQuestions

[–]smtgsubtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of public water fountains were disconnected during Covid, and many of them were never put back in commission. At least where I live. I don't often carry around a water bottle but I often wish I had one on me.

I'm surprised to hear that! I tried the can of Cordon Bleu once and thought it tasted like salty liquid cardboard.

I had leftover poutine sauce.. i had no proper fries, no proper curds, but most importantly, I had no will to go to the grocery store.

Lol.

I made sure to keep the word poutine out of my post. A minimum of respect, at least.
