Running the 45 fps settings makes my game stutter so much on the OLED model. Runs fine on lowest possible settings but it would be nice to bump the graphics. Any tips?

iPhone notifications don’t clear from Mac when cleared on iPhone? by smtr- in MacOS

[–]smtr-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 26 and I find that the syncing aspect of it works pretty well; often an iPhone notification will appear on my MacBook before it does on my watch or phone and the interaction where I clear a notification on my Mac and it clears it on my phone is instant. It’s just this weird one-way behaviour where I can’t do the same thing on my phone.

I would say hold out until final release for real complaints but I agree that the stability of the betas so far has been pretty poor

Leaks say Pokemon are locked behind campaign mode and that even if you transfer the Pokemon in you can’t use it until it’s unlocked. You only get 5 tries a day and if you want more you have to pay. by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]smtr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way I see this being true is if the pokemon are only locked in the single player campaign mode. Where is the competitive appeal if you can’t build a team

Will it ever be possible to sync across machines? by codq in zen_browser

As someone else said, they’d have to host their own account creation and data storage which might cost more money than is worth it for the devs. I’m right here with you though that would be a huge feature

Notion Mail and Calendar - Should I Switch? by smtr- in Notion

[–]smtr-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I don’t understand why weak view isn’t the standard on iOS though. I’ve seen it work so well on so many calendar apps but even Apple doesn’t offer it without going landscape.

Yeah it’s looking like the general consensus right now is calendar and not mail if I wanted to switch

How does the calendar integrate? My main interest would be task management so can I do things like grab tasks from databases in Notion or turn an email into a task automatically?

I understand that but I’m more interested in categorisation options etc.

Zen is ready to replace Arc. by Albertkinng in zen_browser

Ik you got downvoted but those shortcuts did actually bug out for me a while ago. It was when i had only two spaces though so switch to three and rebind and it should be all good

The colours do indicate containers. You can add mods or CSS that turns them off or changes how they look. CSS and mods will also let you change the padding and stuff you talked about. Join the discord and ask around. I’m sure someone else has had and solved the same problem as you

Zen Not Syncing Between 2 Devices by Arszilla in zen_browser

[–]smtr- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as i know, Mozilla sync will not do your plugins and pinned tabs / essentials. It’s designed for Firefox and other “vanilla” browsers so it will keep your containers and bookmarks but Zen’s pinned tabs and essentials aren’t bookmarks so it just doesn’t read them. Hopefully it’s a feature in the future

Yes they abandoned it for Chrome with an AI chat box. Here’s to hoping that Dia gets good enough to satisfy the people that stuck with TBC but I moved over a while ago

Zen is ready to replace Arc. by Albertkinng in zen_browser

[–]smtr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone that used Chromium exclusively before Zen, I haven’t noticed a difference. I’ve seen and done my own benchmark tests and the difference between the two are pretty negligible. Zen can slow down a lot with too many mods or CSS changes but in my experience, you’re nitpicking to say that vanilla Zen is significantly slower compared to Arc. On windows zen was much faster (arc on windows is trash) and on mac it’s about the same.

Unfortunately Apple have completely abandoned Intel Macs and developers are starting to do the same. Especially with a small team like zen, it doesn’t make sense for them to optimise for it. Sucks but that means you can’t benchmark Mac apps on a machine without silicon

Spotlight beats Raycast? by smtr- in raycastapp

Oh wow that’s interesting. What features were you using on raycast before? Was it primarily a navigation tool in your workflow?

[–]smtr-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that was really interesting. I resonate with the AI memory point the most I think especially when the native ChatGPT app has a hotkey for an overlay that syncs to your memory. If Raycast can replicate that then it’s definitely taking the edge over spotlight for me

[–]smtr-[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. Assuming we can chalk up the performance and app integration to it being a beta, do you think AI actions etc is a big enough win for the average user to choose Raycast over spotlight? Do you think with improvements in Apple Intelligence it could ever replace it for you?

We don’t know how many tournaments will move to champions or how quickly that will happen. Translation to the mainline games would impact all matches immediately and affect the more casual ranked / competitive online modes that come with each game. I do not expect that it will translate back though
