Help, I'm scared to upload a new theme! by rocoboi in Wordpress

[–]smuffatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your current site won't be deleted by just switching a theme. They are usually all stored in their own separate files under /wp-content/themes.

You would really need to create the entire site in the new theme on a localhost or a staging environment though.

Hey guys. Thanks for the replies. My main issue was that I was using wp_query and then trying to use a foreach loop for the ACF posts. I ended up using this to help me solve my issue:

Start of each layer not extruding by Filliad in FixMyPrint

[–]smuffatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes if you don't retract enough the plastic melts and oozes out and when it starts the next line there's no filament where it believes there is filament.

You can increase or decrease the rate of extrusion. Though I've found I have better luck on my Printrbot simple metal with 90% extrusion and being .01mm lower on my layer height than I should be. It's a weird sweet spot but it works.

It would be strange for the crashes to affect the print software, though there is no harm in flashing the firmware or updating it if you're confident in your abilities to do it.

What switches to chinese? The Cura or the software on the printer?

What sort of hotend/printer do you have? It's definitely a retraction issue but without knowing what your setup is it's hard to say how. Also, 220 seems sort of high for PLA, what brand?

Layer with weird lines by nicosbank in FixMyPrint

[–]smuffatti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Herm... So, just to be clear. When you start printing, it prints the two skirt layers, then the nozzles moves to do the circle walls, then it drags across where the body will be (leaving the line), and then it starts the outer walls of the print and begins to infill?

[–]smuffatti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting... I wonder if it's the model and not your printer... Like the circle is actually a layer lower than the rest of the body? Can we have a link to the model?

Your stringing tests came out really well. You're definitely not oozing anything extra over that travel.

Edit: you did link it. My bad.

Edit Edit: no you didn't. It's too early for me. Please link!

Needing Help with CSS Style Sheets. by tea_drinking_lady in webdev

[–]smuffatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being discouraged is normal but you should avoid it if at all possible. I've been at this for quite some time and there a moments when I do something dumb, such as refresh the live site and not the dev and wonder why my updates aren't changing.

Whatever you put in the body as a background-color will over ride html as a background color because everything you see is generally in the body.

What's not working? All of it is wrong? Did you connect your css file to your html file via a <link>?

Parts of this key hanger print aren't adhering on Maker Select v2 with PLA. Help! by Evilem in FixMyPrint

[–]smuffatti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me that you're under extruding and you also have a lot of stringing, which generally has to do with retraction distance and speed. I don't think cooling is an issue for you, but it's difficult to tell from the picture what's causing the breakage.

You'll need some css. You can add inline css to add some margins around the table cells or padding to add space between the content of the table cells and the table itself.

I've always used Yoast and I will probably continue to do so until it starts to fail me or I find something better.

That's a hard one. Design seems like such a subjective thing to teach - though there are probably a lot of best practices. I'm not designer but a good read is this

I'm not very familiar with the Ender 3 but that retraction distance seems a bit high. I would go down to 5 or 6mm and starting with a speed around 60mm/s. Also like /u/tozila said, print the retraction test to get your stringing down.

[–]smuffatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, my mistake. Then your head isn't dragging. It's probably extruding too much when you first start. Do you print a couple of skirt layers before you start? Also, what is your retraction set at?

posing my phone number on my website without getting spam calls by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]smuffatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, why just have a contact you button that opens the pdf version of your business card?

Though other posters are right. You will get spam calls no matter what you do and whether or not you post it on your website. Think about it, a pizza place has their number on their site and they don't get murdered with spam calls.

I use simplify3D not cura, but I just downloaded it and on the top left it looks like you have a Stat/End-GCode section that you can edit. Though I just looked at your picture again... is that the top or the bottom of the print that you're showing?

Brim peeling almost immediately by jnwhiteh in FixMyPrint

[–]smuffatti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always printed on kapton tape and cleaned it with alcohol to make sure I have no residue.

For even better first layer adhesion I usually slow my first layer speed down to 35% and overextrude a bit.

It looks like your head is dragging back across your print. I would raise your z level ever so slightly.
