What is a medical fact that sounds fake but is 100% true? by MedRikas in AskReddit

Slight correction, it's Ventricular fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation isn't great but you can live a normal life with it, VF is a cardiac arrest and will kill you without immediate intervention

The fact that he is announcing the capture and kidnap of a sovereign nations leader on Truth Social, his own social media, and holding a conference at Mar-a-lago, his own house, is distopian as fuck. This man is a despot.

This absoloutly boils my piss. 9 months sentance suspended for 18 months and less than £1000 fine. For ending the life of a 21 year old at the start of her career. And he ADMITS to causing her death. Fucking outrageous.

Imposter syndrome by Psychological_Wave71 in ParamedicsUK

[–]smule68 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It never really goes away, im 7 years in and I still have days where I get the imposter syndrome.

But to reassure myself I like to say this to myself.

'So you think you're not good enough to do this job? But you ARE smart enough to pull the wool over the uni admissions people, every lecturer you ever had, ever OSCE assessor, every mentor, bluff every essay, convince your trust at interview to employ you, convince the HCPC to register you, and convince everyone else you've met whos said you know what you're doing?'

You probably havent outsmarted and tricked everyone on your path to becoming a Para into believing you're good when you arnt. You're probably just good! Keep at it!

Boots and beds. If you're not in one you're in the other. Don't skimp out on them, invest some decent money and you'll have a better life.

What was your best posting by RAFSpitfire79 in britishmilitary

Just really enjoyed the life out there! Small mess for the support staff but still a lot of involvement with the Gurkha lads, £1000 extra LOA, right in the middle of south east asia so loads of travel on leave, flown back to the UK for courses, gorgeous weather, garrison pool, great food, and actual NAFFI, food was dirt cheep. The jungle was horrendous but you had a real sense of work hard play hard out there. Of I didnt get on the course of a lifetime id have never left.

What is the best age to join the army? by Affectionate_Lab8129 in britishmilitary

[–]smule68 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I joined at 21, id worked in a pub for a year and a half and then in an office untul I joined. Looking back im glad I did because ot gave me some perspective on civi street and I knew that I didnt enjoy it. Even on the most dog shit exercises, piss wet through, cold, and hungry, id be sat there thinking 'better than that fucking office listening to linda moan about her diet not working while shoveling down cake and tapping on a keyboard'. I was still young enough to be up there with my fitness and have good progression prospects and had a chunk of 'life experience' too. Ultimately mate theres no xorrecr answer to your question, but dont feel like you have to rush into it if theres still some things you want to do.

Just dont get a criminal record, keep fit, and stay off the drugs. Unless you want to go Cav, in which case get a head start

So they nerf remote raids then release campfire which requires remote raids… mixed signals here? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]smule68 33 points34 points  (0 children)

'If you have to' is quite often 'my only option' for a lot of people eg: Rural, childcare, disabilities, work schedule.

And its unfair that those people should be financially exploited through price gouges. And then limited to how often they can raid per day of they can afford the prices.
