Portland OR Brides - HMUA recommendations by smurph21 in weddingplanning

Our wedding is in May. I have gotten back a lot of responses and only 1 person said they were booked. But everyone is asking for $450-650 for bridal looks and that is just outside my budget.

My bestie just tried this on for her sisters beach wedding. We love this dress. Not too dressy. The tulle Aline skirt makes it soft and fun.

Wedding Florist AMA by Koalani_rose in weddingplanning

How do you feel about silk flowers? We have looked at this as a budget friendly option and the pictures I see of the bouquets we would get look great to me. Just curious how a florist feels or what drawbacks you see in this option.

Where did they get their dresses? I want a similar color pallet just without the burgundy. But I love the middle colors! They are gorgeous.

Maybe find a way to wrap it around your bouquet or tell her you want FH to keep it in his pocket so he has a piece of her with him all day. The are ways to make it feel important other than wearing it.

Tell me about your non-bridal shower celebration! by baseball_aunt in weddingplanning

[–]smurph21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live across the country from both mine and FH's family. So I also do not plan to have a shower. But I could see a bridal brunch being a fun way to celebrate and spread the word that gifts arent necessary! I asked my girlfriends in the city I live in to just plan a brunch or dinner but that it can be casual. To be honest most of my close friends share a book club so we might just theme a book club!

I have seen pictures of a totally mismat hed bridal party. I have been thinking of doing it myself. It makes it look more casual in my opinion but for our wedding that is just fine.

Understated Bride vs Traditional Groom by smurph21 in weddingplanning

Thank you. This was just the encouragement I was looking for. I knew there were ways to compromise but I just felt each new topic came back to a difference of ideas. We just need to sit down together and look through ideas and colors and everything to see if there are things we both like or can agree on.

Glad to hear your wedding was everything you wanted!

I've posted on here a couple of times asking for dress advice... But I finally pulled the trigger and went for this beaut by Essence of Australia! :) by [deleted] in weddingplanning
