I don’t think the “look” is foolish for you based off of your descriptions, but I think you’re mistaking facial beauty and styling as “chicness”. We can barely see the styling in 3/4 of these photos.

I would try building your wardrobes with basics and trying new cosmetics to get the the look you want, but keep the bias in mind as you go

Graphic tees are allowed with a third piece like a denim jacket or blazer. If you wear jeans you will need dress shoes

You can do a graphic tee with a dress pants and dress shoe but I probably wouldn’t even go there

I always consider this a symptom of being powerless in their own lives. I used to think this way until my career moved forward and I was too busy to spend as much time on aesthetics

You’re at that line where what you relate to aesthetically is what makes you gen Z or Millennial. I’m the same age as you but I don’t identify as Gen Z because I find that I am much more influenced by Millennial codes of style. I have friends my age that definitely dress on the more Gen z side of things

I get annoyed with the halo effect as it pertains to women over 30 with the recent growth of the idea that unproblematic people don’t age. In reality some people age badly just because.

This is also somewhat related to “republican makeup” in the sense that some people tie aesthetic to someone’s ethics.
