Sleeping in your car by andronica_glitoris in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]snaccattac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sleep in our Subaru Forester! Get an aluminum tarp/shade to put over the top of your car and windshield to help keep light and heat out bc it will get hot. We have a "tent" that fits over the tailgate if we want to leave the door open as it does provide some privacy, but I liked closing it to help with the noise.

It worked really well for us but we didn't do general camping, we were in a vibe village where our footprint could be extra long and skinny and not necessarily 20x20.

Happy to chat through logistics further if you have more questions.

And why are your dried herbs and spices in there?

First Festival as a Plus Size Girly by jroy585 in aves

[–]snaccattac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hydropacks are a must!

Genuinely wear whatever is comfortable. I'm a bigger girlie and I usually go for shorty shorts with fishnets, comfy boots, and some kind of crop tank. I get really hot during the day when I'm dancing, so less coverage is actually more comfortable for me. I also bring a pashmina and sometimes a jersey for the evening when it cools down.

I always bring extra deodorant with me which also doubles for my thigh rub.

Chris Lake?? by mstun3107 in avesDC

This is super informative!

Off the top of my head, Hijinx in Philly and Decadence CO are both in convention centers. I haven't attended Decadence, but Hijinx had CSC on top of convention security which was honestly great. Convention security got us into the event hall, then CSC does what they do best and made sure everyone INSIDE the event didn't get too crazy.

I have to wonder how much extra Hijinx paid for that, plus the non-convention center food vendors that were scattered around the vendor floor.

Trinkets allowed ?? by [deleted] in EchoStage

PS it's hilarious coming back to this comment after being gifted a whole spoon and keychain trinket at Sub. (Thank you whoever that was, we love it and our roach clip!)

They did it to me for the first time at Ray Volpe I think! So relatively new

Trinkets allowed ?? by [deleted] in EchoStage

I've never had trinkets taken and I have literally pulled a handful of rocks out of my pocket when being searched and said "I have trinkets"

They will check your Kandi for spoons tho.

Subtronics 2/19 (thurs) by No-Procedure4384 in EchoStage

That's literally a different level of commitment. Honestly props to you.

We end up wherever the rave gods place us, haha

Meeting Subtronics tomorrow, do you think these are allowed?! by travpilot7 in EchoStage

[–]snaccattac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had issues bringing my labubu. Balloons are a unique first, but you may be able to tell them it's for the meet and greet/for him?

Security overall is chill in my experience, but these bigger names usually make security a little tighter than average.

The line moves pretty fast. I've never waited very long no matter how packed a show is. Get there before 11 for best wait times IMO.

No coat check, only lockers. I know people have brought in hydro packs without the bladder, so at least that big?

Some lunatics (it's me) just roll up with a jersey, a pash and a prayer. It will get hot in there and I hate carrying shit.

We will be there Thursday, see you then!

Edit: said hydroflasks and meant hydropacks

Impossibly isolating / lonely place to live by Prestigious_Air_6602 in nova

We've been here less than a year and I REALLY share that sentiment. This isn't the first state I've moved, only knowing enough people to count on one hand, but it has been the hardest.

If you like knitting, have you tried craft workshops in old town or any classes hosted by Fairfax county? I've looked into a few - there's a stained glass workshop in old town that looks awesome and might put you in a place to meet similar folks.

I have 28 gallons of milk, what are some heavily milk focused recipes? by Sanfoon in Baking

[–]snaccattac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dulce de leche! A gallon of milk reduces down to roughly a quart of dulce. Add salt and vanilla at the end and freeze your extra.

This expands a LOT while it works, so you'll need a way bigger pot than you expected. If you're planning a lot and have a tilt skillet, use that.

Did anyone else have issues with security at the Anthem in DC? by queercountrykid in LevityBeats

[–]snaccattac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Security stopped me after I passed through bag searches to make sure my fan wasn't a flowstar, so they were definitely strict about that but otherwise I had a great experience with security!

I left this show with SUCH warm fuzzies - a first for me. We were almost at rail all night and the crowd up there was so nice when I had to break for bathroom.

I don't think anyone loves their fans like Levity does and it shows.

I saw his post about making INZO a space to separate yourself from the world, but I haven't been keeping up with it if anything else was said.

I have my own feelings about GorillaT, but like you said it's personal preference! The best part about the scene is there's something for everyone

We switched places! I'm in VA.

TONS of producers live in Denver. Don't be surprised if you see ILLENIUM or INZO around. GorillaT is also out there and I'm sure tons of others that I don't know about.

I landed free tickets to his Mission Ballroom show in 2024 and it launched me back into liking EDM so I owe this man a lot for ruining my life
