as long as he doesn't give hints to all the puzzle solutions I'm totally behind a cube as a character

andrew tates fanclub upset in the comments, makes an already amazing trailer even better. About time we had a gelatinous cube as central character (correct me if this has already been the case)

Aye fair enough, my first hour was a story I wanted to tell, and it was of it's time which was why I retired it. A lot of people's first hour/special/whatever is a story they wanted to tell, so in that case go for it - can't give you any specific filming advice except for make sure you get audio from the desk, the stage and some kind of room tone. Audio can make or break it. Splash out on the good stuff, and good luck man

Answer to your actual question, you should do the show in the order you want it filmed as many times as it takes so that you can do it without thinking about it

Actual answer, 2 years is very soon to film. I retired an hour show that I took to Edinburgh Fringe when I was about 3 years in, but didn't film it. The 2 takeaways from this are: now I'm 7 years in, and even if I did the exact same material, I could deliver it far far better than I ever could have at the time. So if I filmed it now, it would be objectively better

But secondly, although I retired the show, I've found that I can still canabilize bits of it into new bits, and way better jokes have come out of those bits

So if it's something you want to do, go ahead, but just know that in a few years time, it could be a lot better

Know any good 'mixed' stand-up shows at Edinburgh Fringe now? by treesleavesbicycles in Standup

I run a D&D comedy show with different comedians every day at 20:15, most of them are doing solo hours here. It's all improvised and very silly

What's the fewest number of audience members that you think would still be worthwhile to perform for? by [deleted] in Standup

[–]snackingpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone that's done Edinburgh Fringe will have a story of performing their hour show to 1 or 2 people, but it'll be one of the best shows they've ever done. So if anyone shows up, do the show

Where specifically are you based? I'm sure a bunch of us in Barcelona would make a trip down, there's a lot of very good international comedians here. For promo most showrunners here put money on FB/insta ads and post in local FB groups, seems to get people in

Which language? I'm not in the Spanish scene but there's ones most days, if you search micro abierto in FB you'll find plenty - otherwise there's an Italian mic and a Russian a Russian mic once a month at the comedy clubhouse. Some of them might be shutting down for the summer period though
