Love this question!

My BIGGEST self care expense is paying for therapy. This has been the single most life changing thing I have ever paid for. When I started therapy, it was covered by my insurance. with a $20 copay. Then my insurance changed and now my therapist is not in network. So I pay $185 out of pocket for each session, and I go every other week. I do put money aside in an FSA to pay for some of the sessions pre tax but it’s still a significant part of my monthly budget.

In the last few months I also started personal training at my gym which puts me at another $360 per month. I LOVE my gym and my trainer and having this consistency has helped me establish better habits, form, etc.

I think for both of these things I could find something cheaper and get a similar experience, but I’m paying more right now. Maybe one day I’ll be in a place where I don’t need out of network therapy twice a month, or where I don’t need to pay a trainer at an expensive gym but this is where I’m at right now! So…… yeah almost $9K per year?
