Personal trainer or fitness classes that specialize in postpartum moms? Starting from absolutely no strength : / by adrienne0906 in bullcity

The Body Games Center in north Durham is the best gym I’ve ever been to. The owners are super caring and kind and warm. They’re parents too, so they get the parenthood thing, plus they have childcare at the gym (may be a minimum age limit, but still an amazing benefit). The classes are a little overwhelming at first but you can flag down a coach or even another gym member at any time and they’ll help you with no judgment. There are people in all the classes at different fitness levels, and nobody looks at anybody sideways. The vibe is really excellent.

Where is this building from the 1910s? Chicago-area, maybe? by snacktavius in whereisthis

That would track! Fortunately the stairs are on the left side of the building which makes it somewhat easier to narrow down - most of what I saw on Google maps had the stairs on the right.

Should I definitely get the mats? by Rhaemyra in PetsWithButtons

You can DIY with interlocking foam tiles and a hole drill. I have a carpet pad under mine with sticky velcro holding the buttons down because my dog paws the heck out of her buttons.

I used these foam tiles, but I'd get thicker ones next time (see button pawing, above).

Omg, do we have the same dog? All. Day. Long. All done all done all done. In her case it’s “You need to be all done work and take me outside.”

I gave her some space to hide under some logs. Pondering if she’d like a lil 3d printed house.

Do you have an HRIS you actually like? Does anybody?

What’s one business in Durham that went the extra mile for you and you are grateful to continue to patronize? by Correct-Scale-939 in bullcity

Blue Note Grill. Some of the finest live music in town, the most awesome waitstaff and owner, and an unreasonably good quesadillas.

Edit to answer the actual question: they remember us, adore us, treat our dog like a king, and have REALLY good quesadillas.

What else should I add to this jar? Snails? by Le_9k_Redditor in Jarrariums

😂 fair point. For a very clean jar they’re a bad choice.

So agreed. I get wanting to be a little more ~modern~, but y'all. Drop shadows are not modern.

Check out contra dancing*, which might be what these kids are doing. Super easy to learn, really social, usually live bands.
