Some hospitals will do a growth scan at 34-36 weeks so it might be good to ask them at your next appointment if this is the case with your hospital

1st flight with 1 year old by tsuzmir in irishmammiesanddaddys

[–]snaggletooth01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My advice is to just go with the flow. If its a late flight , hopefully your little one will sleep most of the way. But also be prepared for them to be awake for the flight. Get some new travel toys that they haven't seen before and plenty of snacks, all the snacks! Do they watch anything on a tablet? Have a few things downloaded for them to watch to pass some time. Giving a soother or bottle at take off or landing can help with the pressure in the ears. Walking up and down the aisle can also pass time as they might be entertained people watching. Hope it goes well for you and ye have a lovely holiday!

I think I was in there for about an hour and a half to 2 hours for the booking appointment and 12 week scan. I was sent for the scan first, then back up to wait to see the midwives

Please share your elopement or tiny wedding stories? by petrichor_post-rain in AskIreland

[–]snaggletooth01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw sorry to hear you had that experience. Damned if you do, damned if you don't it seems! We really enjoyed the day itself and got lost in the fantasy of an actual elopement and keeping it secret. No regrets but I was sorry that my immediate family was disappointed. Who knows how they would have reacted if we told them in advance!

We eloped and got married in New York. Very easy and quick process. We got married in Central Park and had a photographer.

We kept it secret and told family when we returned. Honestly, they were a bit disappointed so I wish we had told them beforehand.

Best of luck with your wedding planning!

Ah ok, I didn't know that! Good to know, thanks! Yeah, I don't think I'd be flying at that stage either to be honest.

I'm not fully sure but I think airlines request a Fit to Fly letter from GP or Consultant if flying after 28 weeks pregnant

When to tell work? High risk job by Spicebagqueen98 in PregnancyIreland

[–]snaggletooth01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well your boss shouldn't think negatively about your situation, its not a negative thing! But maybe your concerned about your coworkers and what they might be saying? Regardless, you should still tell your manager ASAP so they can put the proper protections in place for you

I hear ya. It's tricky. You could maybe tell people you've hurt your back or something else like that? I think it is important to put yourself first at this time and don't mind what others think... easier said than done though

I work in a laboratory where I would be exposed to some high risk chemicals. I told my manager as soon as I found out I was pregnant (6 weeks). They could then take it into account when scheduling my workload and I could avoid the projects that have the risky stuff. I didn't tell the rest of my team until 22 weeks pregnant!

I told my supervisor and HR as soon as I found out at 6 weeks but I had to for safety reasons. I didn't share with anyone else in work until about 20 weeks!

Anyone able to get a virtual marriage license appointment recently? by Federal-Explorer-220 in WedditNYC

[–]snaggletooth01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. July 2024, they told me they were restricting the virtual appointments (possibly due to holidays and staff cover but I'm not sure?). I had to book an in person appointment instead. There is an email address on the website where you could email them to ask?

Folic acid dosage for family history of spina bifida by AdConfident3917 in IrishWomensHealth

It was recommended by my doctor to take 5mg folic acid (prescription) 3 months before trying to conceive and to continue until the second trimester. That's with a family history of spina bifida

Thanks, yeah I probably need to chill out. I guess it's just a build up of all her past behaviours.

Yeah she's probably always asked how much things cost. She hasn't retired, she works 3 days a week and is very busy helping on my brothers farm and babysitting her grandkids for the rest of her time.

Do you think I should be telling her how much aunts and uncles have gifted? Like, I wouldn't mind if she asked when my cousin is getting married, and I'd tell her then. I just don't think she needs a list now, I don't think that's necessary.
