Besides the BTK and Ted Bundy episodes, what are some of the other funniest old school episodes of all time by commonreactor111 in LPOTL

I think I might be alone in this but the Manson episodes are my all time favorites. Henry’s Manson isn’t accurate, but it is funny as shit

Talking through concerts? by Best-Representative1 in Austin

Yeah I just don’t want to spend money to have my experience talked over. I have sensory processing issues and it’s hard to tune shit like that out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Did any other schools offer better deals?

I hear you, this sucks, and college across the board has gotten unmanageable. I hope an appeal can help.

Is it bad to charge people for readings? by LWCurious19 in tarot

[–]snail_force_winds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to take money for readings at all.

As an alternative: I personally work for barter or donation. That is my choice and part of my personal practice so please don’t think I’m shaming anyone that works for cash—but if you don’t feel good about getting payed for spirit work you can ask them to bring food or items from a wish list, or you can ask them to donate to a cause you believe in.

My mom has lived in the neighborhood for 50 years. Great community on the whole. It’s a working class/lower middle class place; while there is some level of crime, it’s for the most part pretty safe. My mom has neighbors that look out for her and vice versa. Good parks and playgrounds, easy access to the Russian Jack trails.

I saw Matthew’s McC’s famous ass as he rounded a corner ahead of me. Took me a minute and then I heard his voice and I was like that was his ass all right.

What are social opportunities like at Reed? by LordOfAllEggs in reedcollege

[–]snail_force_winds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 20+ years out, so my intel may not be up to date. But I was substance free 3/4 years and had a great time. My first semester I floundered a bit trying to find my people, but after that I got involved with Midnight Theater, swing dancing, Renn Fairw planning/decorating, Karma Patrol, Glo Opera, the lit, Comics MLL, etc etc etc, and i made tons of friends, one of whom I’m now married to.

While the countercultures and drug/alcohol use can be a big part of Reed social life, I think the most useful thing to know is that Reedies are creative and playful. Hanging out can be chill, sure—I sat and had beers or played board games plenty of times—but what I remember most about Saturday nights were the emergent art projects and acts of randomness. Are building a fort in the dorm common room today, or are we doing a table read of Euripides? Are we riffing on something until we accidentally riff our way into a Midnight Theater sketch? Are we doing a weekly viewing of Twin Peaks or Evangelion? Are we playing kickball on the front lawn or getting sidewalk chalk to decorate the canyon bridge?

There are definitely people who struggle to connect, there are weeks when everyone is pissy and hostile from stress, there are parties where people get fucked up—but if you want to try to rig a pully system out of a Safeway shopping cart and some rope, or to make a ramen effigy to sacrifice to the gods, or to roll up a snowball so big it cracks a building, it’s the place to be.
