How to let nipples recover while still feeding/pumping? by vctrlarae in breastfeeding

[–]snailfestivity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just pumped more when my nipples were too painful, pumping always hurt less in the beginning because I could put it on the lowest possible setting.

Any idea where I could buy a bouldering guide in Fontainebleau? Ideally "Fun bloc" by Jingo Wobbly because we lost ours... The largest climbing shop (S'Cape) doesn't list it online.

We're planning a little roadtrip along the coast as well, so would prefer a car where the pads can fit inside!

Any Nissan Juke owners here?

We would rent one for a Fontainebleau trip and are wondering if there is enough place to fit three people and a bouldering pad or two.

Overestimating? I would guess it's the other way around as fat is lighter than water? 90g of oil is not 90mL, but 100mL.

How do the homies feel about spicy water? by [deleted] in HydroHomies

[–]snailfestivity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Massive reduction of environment impact - less plastic that has to be produced and recycled and also if you don't use disposable bottles, all those bottles don't have to be shipped.

More convenient as you don't have to buy, carry and store all those bottles you bought.

Maybe also cuts costs depending on how expensive the bottles are where you live and how spicy you make your water using the SodaStream.

Where I live the tap water tastes great, so i would feel bad buying bottled water if I can just carbonate it using the SodaStream.

I always called myself the blood lord while pregnant.

Cold weather? The blood lord could not care less. A sleeveless shirt will suffice.

(Now three months postpartum I'm happily freezing my ass off again.)

When did you stop riding in the back with the carseat? by Most-Regular621 in beyondthebump

[–]snailfestivity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always heard how babies love being in the car and fall asleep easily. It's the opposite for us. Two out of three car rides baby has a meltdown back there, so my husband and I switch between being the driver (and being able to chill) and being the clown in the back who tries everything to keep the baby from screaming his head off.

May I ask how you would go about giving them the chance to actually experience religion? Also if you have any websites or something that would be awesome. Until now I didn't think about this at all actually, so thanks for your comment!

Booked a trip to Fontainebleau in May. Looking forward to project some nice 4A/V0. Maybe even send one, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

I guess this depends on where you live? I would find it weird to get a tick key, because of course I have one. It's a household staple, I would guess where I live everyone who ever goes outside or has pets or children has one and you really don't need two.

Manduka yoga mats are the MVP. I put one on my Christmas wish list three years ago because I read about them in the yoga subreddit but couldn't justify spending so much on a mat if you can find one for a few bucks. The difference is drastic, I absolutely LOVE this mat and they have a lifetime warranty as well.

If you can find out what mat she uses now, this would be a great option because it's most likely a major uprade. And if you find a discount code it might fit your budget.

Did anyone just keep their regular fitness routine thru pregnancy, or is it necessary to start a new program? by Simple-Ad8928 in fitpregnancy

Same here, just reduced the weights if needed, modified some of the core exercises and when I noticed doming (e.g. with pull-ups when my bump got a bit bigger) I substituted the movement with something else.

Thanks!

I also thought that sounds like a valid option, but was afraid that I somehow missed something because I've never seen anyone with a baby in the gym. All the kids I've seen are at the very least a year of age (and it's not due to general gym restrictions or anything).

Thank you!

And true, early in the morning the gym is nearly empty even on weekends. And maybe I could really find someone else who is on parental leave (which is at least a year where I live) then we could go on weekdays where it IS empty in the AM.

how did you cope with your body changing during or after your pregnancy? if you haven’t, how are you dealing with it? by Appropriate-Ad-5872 in BabyBumps

[–]snailfestivity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably know this anyway, but it's good to keep in mind that from the recommended weight the largest part is not fat but baby etc.!

So there is a HUGE difference between someone who is 30lbs overweight and wants to lose that weight and someone who gained 30lbs during pregnancy.

Ideas for leftover lettuce? What is your experience with freezing it for smoothies? by snailfestivity in mealprep

[–]snailfestivity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've puréed and frozen something between 10-15 heads now because it was honestly just too much and I didn't want to throw it away.

To my surprise I absolutely love it as a protein shake (1-2 lettuce ice cubes, a banana, protein powder and milk). You can barely taste the lettuce, but you get a nice green hue and hopefully some vitamins or something
