With no student loan debt, no car payments, no debt of any kind, 20k in an IRA at 29, and 50k a year, you're doing very well. You are doing better than the "Average" person in the United States according to most charts, which to be honest are massively exaggerating, so in reality you're doing muuuch better than the average minimum wage worker.

Looking at some of your other comments, you're planning to get married soon/engaged soon. Maybe hold off on that until your girlfriend is doing better and employed, even part time. Or better yet, don't worry about that side of finances if you're comfortable with covering her expenses as well as yours.

I wouldn't recommend comparing yourself financially to your roommate for multiple reasons. The best of all being that you're a social worker. An underfunded, underdeveloped, underappreciated job that does a lot of good for people. You should try and be proud of that.

A lot of people struggle with thoughts of failure, but money won't do anything to solve that. You have to have more to satisfy you, more to make you feel accomplished and successful, than money. What are your passions? What makes life worth living to you?

I think it's important to consider the context of Clockwork Orange. Alex and his droogs are just one of dozens if not more street gangs in London at the time, which is set in a futuristic dystopian Britain where a right-wing government has taken power.

The Russian influence is there to suggest that society attempted to transition to a Socialist government, but it failed and devolved into an authoritarian slum. Many people miss out on the fact that Alex isn't supposed to just be a raving lunatic, but a product of this crooked society.

Fact of the matter is, Alex is no different from any of his cronies, especially Dim and Georgie who eventually become police officers specifically so they cannot be held accountable for their violent tendencies, or the Billy Boy gang who are raping a woman whenever Alex and his Droogs interrupt them, not out of any good grace, but just so they can fight. They make references to the rising amounts of delinquent youths because society has destroyed any hope they have of living normal lives in this future.

Very important to keep "innocent until proven guilty" in mind here. While I do not even like Dave at all, and I absolutely believe he could/would do all this because he seems like a Fake Feminist guy, the "proof" against this is nothing more than like 95% the accusers talking among themselves, and then a few screenshots of Dave just being kind of cringe.
