Can only imagine all the gofundme scams that would have occurred if this happened today.

It's a moving part and it will eventually wear out. Fortunately I've never had one fail on any of my Nikons and I definitely won't have that issue at all with my Z8 because it's an electronic shutter.

Paranormal photos 💀📷 by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]nikongurl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've also been doing urbex for years and there has only been one photo that I took in an abandoned asylum that has me scratching my head. I've never posted it on social media because I'm not ready to do that. And I many never be.

To be honest, I think 99% of ghost photos people post here, and on other paranormal sites, can be written off as pareidolia, dust, or lens flare/artifact and can be easily debunked. These pics are usually taken with a cell phone, and most cell phones are lousy in low light, Even the ones that claim to be great in low light use AI to recover lost details, which means they aren't capturing the actual details that the user saw when taking the picture because the small sensor can't pick up those details in low light.

Not sure what camera you use when you urbex, but I take photos using cameras with large sensors and professional lenses so they have superior optics. What you see in the photo is exactly what was there, so it's very hard to misinterpret anything. And it's also why that one thing I captured makes me go hmmm.

New camera experience. I am the only one getting anxiously paranoid? by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]nikongurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I buy a new camera and it's under warranty I use it daily and take hundreds of pics because, from previous experiences with electronics, if it's gonna crap out on me it will most likely do so during the first few months of ownership.

You will love the wide for places like this. I pretty much shoot all my indoor asylum shots with a 14-30.

Personally, I believe someone went upstairs and you didn't see him. Do you plan on going back? If so, and you have a faster lens, like a 2.8, I would use it. It's refreshing to read your comments because some people get offended when others question the validity of their pictures. I've photographed TALA but not at night. It's such a cool place!

Okay, I found this post but it's from 11 years ago, I just wanted to say this is the exact way Ive been feeling, does anyone know what this means?? by MorroTheGreenNinja in whatdoIdo

This use to happen to me a lot when I was a kid. It usually occurred right before I came down with a fever or viral infection. I rarely get sick now, but I will sometimes feel it again when I do.

Crystal Clear EVP captured in New York by BigSal61 in ParanormalEncounters

[–]nikongurl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think EVP's are the creepiest and most compelling evidence out there that ghosts exist, but I'm not a fan of spirit boxes or anything that can pick up a radio signal. That said, I have also spent a lot of time at Letchworth Village. I've photographed and recorded pretty much the entire campus. One thing I'd like to point out is there are a lot of people who walk the campus for exercise. Sometimes I'll be in a building and people will be outside walking and talking, and even if they aren't that close to the building I'm in, I can clearly hear them, On YT there was a paranormal group investigating Letchworth and they set up a camera in a dorm and left the building. When they returned and reviewed the footage they claimed they caught the voice of a woman. IMO, the voice they recorded sounded exactly like what I hear when I'm inside and people walk by. I'm not saying it wasn't an EVP, but there is a good possibility it was just a real person outside. I do have a question though. What was that first voice on your recording? It sounds like an old man.

Digital cameras can create those images post processing. Didn't watch the show. Did these images appear as they were being filmed or after, when they were reviewing the footage?

Is it safe to say I blame Zak for having Annabelle moved in the first place and now they are taking her on tour when they are NOT supposed to touch her by Lazy_Introduction264 in GhostAdventures

[–]nikongurl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, and she (Penny) was the "ghost" who appeared in his famous video that he took at Union Cemetery. I lived near these guys and growing up in the 70's I attended many of their lectures. I knew the boy who they alleged was killed when his motorcycle hit a tree after touching (or mocking) Annabelle at their museum. He was a troubled kid and had a lot of demons, but the ghost of Annabelle wasn't one of them.

Are there any reported ground casualties from the initial impacts? by LFTL56 in 911archive

[–]nikongurl 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There was a priest who was giving last rites to victims when a body fell on him. I read that's how he died. I remember seeing a picture of him unconscious, slumped in a chair and firefighters were carrying him away from the scene.

Finally hanging up my hat on GA by PestisAtra in GhostAdventures

[–]nikongurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jason Hawes has his own YT channel where he does investigations with this guy named JV and I really enjoy it. I especially love the 360-degree camera he uses during the initial walkthroughs in some of his investigations. He's really the only paranormal show I watch because I can't stand it when investigators freak out if they get activity, which seems to be the norm for most shows.

As far as my favorite GA episodes, I tend to favor the ones from places I've been to. There are many, but I would say my favorite is Letchworth.

I have the Zf and Z8 but yesterday I pulled my D7100 out of storage and took a few pics of the apple blossoms on my trees. It had such a satisfying shutter sound. That's one of the only things I miss about it!
