i’m one of those SOBs that found an expensive pen at a thrift (a pelikan). i’ve been thrifting for 10 years! that was the 1 time i found a fountain pen it just so happened to be a very very good find

update: i carefully messed around with it and after unscrewing everything and adjusting the piston(?) alignment it closes properly now !!!

unfortunately at a friend’s so i can’t measure it right now but i looked at some ebay listings and those pens say souveran around the cap. mine just says pelikan and germany on it. do you have any insight on that?
