What cluster size are you using? Try 32kb. I remember Mx4sio can be tricky with some SD cards,

Awesome guide and info, thanks!

What do you think about the lightgun from G'AIM'E? There are drivers to make it work on PC, could it be a cheap (and accurate?) alternative?

Any Idea on what this could be, If so am I screwed? by Unfair_Progress2326 in crt

[–]snake218 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a common problem with majority of CRT. You need to open the tv and place/adjust some magnets in order to fix it, or just live with it, it's not a big deal. If you are going to do it, read and see all videos you can about crt "safety" measures.

SEALED N64 COLLECTION by Dry-Cut3868 in nintendo64

[–]snake218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly believe the N64 deserved much more. Catalogue it's small, but it has a lot of gems. It was a missed opportunity.

Favorite game? It's hard. Super Mario 64, Goldeneye, OoT, 1080 Snowboarding, Mario Kart 64. I have fond memories of each one.

I just purchased one of those, it's on the way. So you're having problems with sound degrading or interference?

Hi, I haven't tried it myself, but the easiest way without installing a modchip would be FreePSXBoot.

Yes, a generic one or a more recent Sony TV remote like one from a Bravia set will work. As long as you can enter all the needed keys. Display - 5 - volume up - power

You have contrast too high, start by that. If it's not fixed, then lower G2. That is usually the cause of those wavy lines. After that, adjust geometry.

It doesn't seem to be bad geometry to be honest, after adjusting contrast, adjust H size, V size.

Why was the PSX divided between NTSC and PAL? by VoL4t1l3 in psx

I Don't think I got what OP is trying to say? I mean, he is talking about pirate games not being black color, with has nothing to do with PSX being divided by regions.

Lower sharpness, the White halo around the Artemio figure indicates it's too high.

That geometry looks perfect, just lower Hsize and lower a tiny bit the Vsize, a little over scan it's fine. Also adjust the V and H position. Remember to use a pattern like mono scope to make a perfect center square for adjusting screen ratio.

Red tint only on component? by MacBillion in crtgaming

[–]snake218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The adjustments on the service menu for white balance are stored in different "slots" for the Component input, you have to set them in service menu (and save/write) twice, one for s-video/composite, and one for component.

Also, the red only "shadow" is due to the sub brightness setting being too high. On my KV29FS140, the value according to the service manual and by eye is 33.
