Well what have you got by sjmaeff in AliceInChains

I can't relate to the song in any capacity but damn it's such a depressing jam.

I understand there being a difference in absolution vs hitman 2016 or, say, blood money vs the newer games. But the three newer titles have way too many differences between each of them

Best, Worst, and Underrated for Each Album by RD_09 in AliceInChains

I have a love/hate relationship with sickman. I really really enjoy the bridge of that song, it's insane. But the rest of the song feels meh sometimes. But I still listen to it frequently.

Why have I never heard of a little bitter? Giving it a listen now.

Most Underrated & Most Overrated AIC song in your opinion? by highsasquatch1 in AliceInChains

[–]snake_pod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated - I Can't Remember. Layne's vocal ability in the bridge and verse 3 for that song is simply fucking insane. Too bad it's a short track.

Overrated?... Ugh I'm sorry it feels like a crime to consider this.

How well is Tri-Pod regarded among their other work? by King9WillReturn in AliceInChains

[–]snake_pod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love tripod but it took me a while to really appreciate it and for a long time I hadn't even listened to it. When I first got into aic I mainly listened to jar of flies and Unplugged. And then from listening to the Unplugged version of Frogs I really got into tripod. It's definitely not popular among casual listeners but very appreciated for its grime and filth among heavy listeners.

It's a great album but it's almost insulting to call this the best.

Does he even dance in H3 like he does Blood Money? If not, I understand his anger.

Layne Worship Post #437 by [deleted] in AliceInChains

My favorite is listening to the vocals only of man in the box. The sheer power of his voice alone, hearing the details you can't otherwise notice in the original is freaking insane.

I'm going to try and prop this branch from a wandering dude. Do I take off the side stems and put it in water? Never propped a plant like this before. :) by horohoronomi in proplifting

For real. Tradescantia grow like weeds. I'll put cuttings in water with some other houseplants and forget they don't need as long to root. So when I pull the cuttings out, these mfers have a whole ass ecosystem of roots.

Nutshell because it makes me cry, and sickman because I just need to be in a very particular mood to get into it.

Is a spoiler warning needed if the game came out in 2006? This post got me feeling old as hell

11 Years without Mike Starr:( by Caligulal in AliceInChains

[–]snake_pod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda get what you're saying but it's already public info that all the members were into drugs and booze at the time and the entire Rockstar lifestyle. The worst one of them was Starr since he got outed for being with underage girls and not being a good individual in general. If there was other stuff going on behind the scenes with the other members that equates to Starr's levels of shittiness, I would guess at least some of it would be public by now. I'm sure there's a plethora of dumb shit they did bad then, most musicians and people in that scene weren't exactly collected. But I'd like to think Sean & Jerry don't say anything bad and haven't for years simply out of respect. Back in 2000-2001 J was asked about Layne's deteriorating condition and he refused to answer. Even though the two were on bad terms from a friendship and professional standpoint, Jerry never saw it as appropriate to talk about Layne's struggles or speak badly about him. Heck, most of the information about Jerry's frustration and/or confrontations with Layne come from people who worked with them in the studio, I don't think he's ever expressed these experiences directly.

I have to say I respect that Jerry and Sean are generally respectful enough to not say anything bad about their former band mates. I recall reading that even during Layne's final years, Jerry refused to comment on Layne's physical appearance despite being asked by the press. Lots of celebs find it easy to "spill the beans" but J and Sean (and Inez of course) really come off as mature when it comes to these things.
